Filtering Choice
• Adults 18+ may choose at each login
• Teens (13-17) may choose unless guardian designates filtered access

File Management
• You can save or download files to:– A USB drive, if it doesn’t require additional software to function– The desktop (also known as the F: drive) – but the files will
disappear the next time someone logs in
• If you don’t have a USB drive but want to save your files, you can save them to the F: drive and then upload them to a file storage site or an email message.
• Important! If you log out and then remember that you left a file behind, don’t log back in. Any files will be deleted. Talk to a staff member to retrieve the file.

• How do I protect my privacy?– Log out when you’re finished. When the next
person logs in, all personal settings and files will be deleted.
– Make sure you only type private information into a website when the address line says https://... (not just http://...).
– Educate yourself about phishing and other scams.
– Be aware of who is standing behind you.

• Can I get a virus?– Yes. But only from your own activities. – Stay away from shady websites and don’t
click on links in email messages from people you don’t know.
– If you do get a virus, it could infect your Word documents or your USB drive.
– Any virus this computer catches will be erased when the next person logs in.
