Achievements and gapsNot everyone answered the social network call (indifference or unawareness) Web 2.0 --> not specialist historians become history-makers BUT WHAT IF this activity is unaware and not understood? What if there is only the feeling to be IN the history and the desire to show it everyone? The public historian should be able to make the others understand?Val di Vara project is a new and nice and interesting fully public history project, BUT:
the valley has not the web infrastructure needed residents are mostly old people who lost habits and rituals of sharing memory and don't think the web as a repository or a tool for memoriesyoung people are few and not enough prepared to correctly use the digital tools and culture Italy (Europe?) is far from seeing the web as a virtual place where to build or rebuild memories or a new kind of history.

Achievements and gapsBy creating a site as TraMonti we tried to fill the traditional gap between historians and community but maybe we add or increase another gap, the technological one, and not really achieve what wished.
But this does not mean we should not keep trying...!
