Public Safety Committee:Chair: Commissioner Ebbon A. Allen (7E03) 6th District has made a few arrests in 604/605.
Arrest have been made for the shooting that occurred at the 5000 block of Benning Road SE about 4 weeks ago. 2 firearms were recovered from that incident.
6th District also made an arrest 2 weeks ago at the 5000 block of Call Place SE. The gun recovery unit picked up a firearm from that incident.
Cure The Streets Violence Interrupters are only assigned to the Benning Park/Benning Terrace Communities .
MPD is hiring! If you or someone is interested in becoming an MPD Officer please sign up today.
The 6th District is also considering making The Benning Park/ Marshall Heights another location for their Summer Crime Initiative.

Single-Member District (SMD) Reflections & Updates
Emeritus Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner Benjamin E. Thomas, SMD 7E01.
The ANC has recently lost a great Commissioner, Emeritus Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner Benjamin E. Thomas, SMD 7E01.
Mr. Thomas served as President of the Benning Ridge Civic Association, Vice-Chair of the Far-North Southeast Council, and Chair of the Sixth District Citizens Advisory Council. In addition, to his many Excellent and outstanding Accomplishments Mr. Thomas was an excellent dedicated leader, he was an Elected delegate to the 1980 White House Conference on Aging and Families, under tenure of President Ronald Reagan.
Mr. Thomas was a great community advocate, as he is known for serving for 18 years as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner on Advisory Neighborhood Commission (ANC) 7E.
He was first elected in November 1984 and served from January 1985 through 1996. He was also elected in November of 2008 and 2016 for two-year terms beginning in January 2009 and 2017 respectively.
We extend our deepest condolences to his family and friends, and are forever grateful for the tireless work he did for our community.

Assessment Plans for Pedestrian Safety, and Motorist Safety for the Residents for the Fort Davis Community, Rocketship Charter School, and the Homeowners Association for the Community.
Working with the Office of the Attorney General and the Sixth District MPD, to Resolve A Nusiance Property, in the Fort Davis Community.
Program Activities on Hold at the Fort Davis Community Recreation Center, due to Pandemic Covid 19 Virus.
7E03: Ebbon A. AllenWhat’s Happening in 7E03? The Benning Park Modernization Project will begin construction on April 17th, 2020.DGS will update me on employment opportunities throughout the construction
process.
Cure The Streets/Martha’s Table distributed meals for the Benning Park Families last week.
The Cynthia Townshomes Phase 2 on E Street SE are now completed. Phase 3 are set to be completed by Fall 2020.
