The men and women of the Howard University Department of Public Safety (DPS) look forward to an exciting school year. We feel that working together with HUSA and the entire student body will lead to a safer environment here at HU. Our goal at DPS is to increase our outreach to the student population and develop new community engagement opportunities this school year. Some of the things planned for the school year is, to increase the enrollment in our RAVE wireless emergency notification system; develop intimate community meetings with students to learn the concerns and issues of students; hold Rape Aggression Defense (RAD) training for our female population; and hold safety fairs on campus to educate students and faculty on many of the safety options available on campus. Hopefully, together we can make Howard the safest college campus in America. So I look forward to working with you all to accomplish this goal.
