Dumont is one of the few schools in its league that has not upgraded its athletic field facilities

A 400 meter all-weather track would allow our students to hold track meets at DHS...something that has not been done for years

The construction of a new baseball field for the high school sub-varsity team and recreation programs will take place.

The plan is to rebuild and upgrade the present field to include:

The rebuilding and reorientation of the existing softball field will provide additional field space.

These projects are being undertaken by the Dumont Board of Education to

enhance the school sports facilities used by the children and residents of Dumont.

Renovation of the Dumont High School field will increase usable field space and add a

six lane 400 meter all-weather track.

The Honiss and Selzer School fields will be upgraded to better utilize the

existing space, maximizing playing areas.

Who Will Benefit?

The Plan:

Field renovations that will provide $3.36 million in improvements to

the schools’ athletic fields.

The State of New Jersey has approved funding aid which will provide

about 19% of the total project or $693,000.

Actual Cost to Dumont:$2.7 million

to the average Dumont taxpayer, whose house is assessed at $382,000.
