PRINT SOLUTIONS

OKI Printers are ‘Top of the Class’ at The Heathland School

Schools and colleges around the country have much to gain both from replacing expensive outsourced printing with an in-house focused approach and from the

adoption of smarter printing practices. A recent report from the centre for economics and business research ltd (cebr) estimates that education could be the UK sector to benefit most from more efficient printing, with potential annual savings of up to £245 million - enough to provide new school uniforms for six million children.

The Heathland School appreciates the benefits of high quality, cost-effective printing carried out onsite. The school has been using OKI devices for several years and now has a mix of A3 and A4 colour LED machines.

The OKI solutions chosen matched The Heathland School’s requirements in these respects. The school was also attracted by the three-year warranty that OKI offers on all of its solutions as this gave it the confidence of knowing that its printing availability could be maintained at all times.

Speed was another key factor in the decision to purchase OKI printers. As Adam Urch, the school’s IT manager explains, “the OKI devices use single-pass colour digital LED technology and this allows us to achieve fast output of up to 36 colour pages per minute (PPM). Summing up the benefits, Mr Urch says, “we have really appreciated the flexibility of the OKI solutions and in particular their ability to handle a broad range

of different printing jobs from basic drafts right through to digital photography with complex

layers and colour mixes.

“Over time, we have built a strong level of trust in OKI and its solutions. We now operate

a rolling programme where budget is assigned for new printers to replace aging devices or to

furnish a new classroom as and when required,” he continues. “We used to have devices from a broad range of vendors but our trust in OKI is such that we are now looking to standardise on its printers alone.”
