The total readership of Billboard magazine is 48,000 people, and probably even more as their website and chart lists are very popular. The majority of the audience are college graduates, so the magazine are focusing on things that they will find interesting. This means that the target audience will be around 18/in their early twenties. The average household income is $212,000, suggesting that the social class is most likely the ABC1 demographic.71% of Billboard readers spend 30 minutes or more per week reading the magazine. This means that Billboard can make their stories longer and more in depth as people are spending a lot of time reading the magazine. There was nothing on the internet to find about gender, but based on the content in the magazine I would guess it’s around 60% boys and 40% girls reading the magazine. The reader profile also tells us which employment the audience are in. Many of these are in the music industry, and most likely very interested in music.

Egmont is the UK's biggest children's publisher. It was founded by Egmont Haraldsen in 1878 in Denmark, and sell more than 25 million books and 12 million magazines a year.Egmont Publishing publishes a wide range of formats for children of all ages: colouring, annuals, storybooks, activity and sticker books as well as a wide range of novelty books.Since it was founded in Scandinavia, Egmont has other divisions than magazine publishing, such as a book publishing, a Norwegian TV channel (TV2), and even a film studio named Nordisk Film. We Love Pop is the only teenage-focused magazine that Egmont is publishing. It is published once a month, and sells around 50.000 issues every 6 months. There is probably a wider audience, as different people may read the same issue many times. Circulation: 115,000.Since the target audience will be around 13-15 years old, they probably don`t have much money to spend, and so 2.99£ a month is a fair price. The social class is most likely the ABC1 demographic as the young girls are likely to get pocket money from their parents so that they can buy the magazine.

Vibe was originally published by Time Inc. but after much back and forth, the magazine was sold to SpinMedia in April 2013. Spin Media was thought likely to shut down Vibe's print magazine by the end of 2013, but instead they cut the magazine's frequency to four times a year instead of six. SpinMedia is a company and blog network based in Los Angeles. It is focusing on advertising, and publishes one other magazine named Spin. It owns a community of pop culture websites, such as Buzznet, JustJared, and Idolator. SpinMedia also operates many talent websites, such as Britney Spears’s and Kim Kardashian’s official websites. Looking at Vibe’s reader profile, there is 10% more men than woman reading the magazine, but there’s no big gap.

The majority of the readers are 21+ years old, but there is also many younger readers.

Since most of the magazine readers has already graduated from college and are employed in a job, their income is okay, and their social class is most likely the ABC1 demographic.

There is also 75% black/African American readers reading the magazine, while it’s only 15.9% white readers.

Circulation: 800,000

My publisherThe publisher I choose for my magazine is Prometheus Global Media. The magazines they publish are very serious, famous and successful with quality in every issue. Their readers are mature and understanding, buying the magazines because it relates to their interests and not because it catches their attention in the shelve or promotes it self so much.

Most of the magazines that Prometheus Global Media publishes are business magazine, but since my magazine is a music magazine it will stand out just like Billboard.

I would not use The Egmont Group as a publisher because they seem to only publish one magazine, and since their target group for their publishes are children and young teenagers they will not have experience with the type of magazines that I would like to make.

Spin Media is only publishing two magazines, and they seem to have some economic problems. Giving them the responsibility of publishing my magazine would therefore be a risk I don’t want to take.
