IPC media produces over 85 iconic media brand, with their print brands alone reaching almost two thirds of UK women and 44% of UK men – almost 27 million UK adults, while our online brands collectively reach 20 million users every month.

IPC diverse print and digital portfolio offers something for everyone, which have three core audiences they focus on which are:

•Men (IPC inspire) – this comprises a wealth of leisure brands including, Country life, Horse & Hound, Rugby World Decanter, also they have lifestyle brands including, NUTS, Mousebreaker and NME.

•Mass market women (IPC connect) – this comprises famous women's weeklies including, Look, Chat, Now and Woman, also TV entertainment brands including, What’s on TV, TVTimes and TV & Satellite week, and online there is the goodtoknow network.

•Upmarket women (IPC Southbank) – comprises luxury fashion brands including, Marie Clare and InStyle, also there are lifestyle brands including, woman&home and essentials, also home interest brands including, Ideal Home, Livingetc and housetohome.

IPC media is wholly owned by Time Inc.

In the mid 1950’s the magazine publishing industry was dominated by a handful of companies. These companies fought each other for market share in a highly competitive marketplace.

Bauer Media company is private and focuses on the industry of publishing and broadcasting. It was founded in 1875 and it’s headquarters are in Hamburg, Germany, also the areas served are Europe, USA, China and Russia. It has a revenue turnover of 1.79 billion euro.

Bauer media is a large German publishing company based in Hamburg, which operates in 15 countries worldwide. Since the company was founded in 1875, it has been privately-owned and under management by the Bauer family. It was formerly called Heinrich Bauer Verlag KG, abbreviated to HBV and usually shortened to H. Bauer. It has over 230 magazines in 15 countries, as well as online, TV and radio stations. The worldwide circulation of this media group’s magazines amounts to 38 million magazines a week.The Group employs some 6,400 people and has a 2008 turnover of 2.08 billion Euros.

Condé Nast is subsidiary and was founded in 1907. it’s headquarters are in a Condé Nast building in New York City. The companies revenue for 2007 was £2 billion estimated USD, FY and its parent is Advanced Publications.

Condé Nast is a worldwide magazine publishing company. Its main offices are in New York, Chicago, Miami, Madrid, Milan, Tokyo, London and Paris. Condé Nast is run by S.I. Newhouse Jr, and is a division of Advance Publications, who have owned the company since 1959.

By 1998 the group included 17 such publications, many of them are the largest in their markets. It had an average total circulation of over 13 million issues a month, and an estimated actual readership 5 times larger than that.

VogueThis is a fashion and lifestyle magazine that is published in 18 national and one regional edition. Each month, Vogue publishes a magazine including topics of fashion, life and design. The price of this creative magazine is varied around £3.80.

Wired

This magazine is a full-color monthly American magazine which is published since March 1993, that reports on how technology affects culture, the economy, and politics. It is published in San Francisco, California. It also has 2 new national editions Wired UK and Wired Italia. The founding designers were John Plunkett and Barbara Kuhr, starting with a 1991 prototype and continuing through the first five years of publication,

1993–98.

GQ This was originally Gentlemen's Quarterly is a monthly men's magazine focusing on fashion, style, and culture for men, through articles on food, movies, fitness, sex, music, travel, sports, technology, and books.

EMAP is a private company and it’s industry is publishing. This was founded in 1947 and now it’s headquarters are in London, UK. The revenue turnover in 2006 was £1.154 billion. It’s operating income in 2006 was £223 million.

Emap is a British media company, specializing in the production of business-to-business magazines, and the organization of business events and conferences. It has 59 business-to-business magazines.

The magazine division was found on a hunch when the company’s presses are low between printing issues of the local papers. The thought that a weekly angling publication would be a hit so I 1953 Angling Times was made. Which was soon joined by another high selling magazine motor cycle news from its founded in 1956 for £100. both remain in the top 10 profit earners for the company to this day.

Future is a private limited company (PLC) and focuses in the industry on magazine and internet publishing. It was founded by Chris Anderson in 1985, and its headquarters and in Bath, UK.

Future sells more than 3 million magazines each month and they have more than 20 million unique visitors to their websites and they host 27 annual live events that attract hundreds of thousands of enthusiasts.
