Please ensure your child is at school before the first bell. DRESS REHEARSAL The dress rehearsal commences at 1:00 pm in the concert hall of the Opera House. Due to the large number of students who will be moving into the concert hall, we are required to enter the hall and be seated in our allocated seats by no later than 12:30 pm. This will require your cooperation if you are travelling into the city and plan to spend the day there. The students will be required to stay with the choir group and supervising teachers during this time. The dress rehearsal is scheduled to finish at 4:00pm. MEETING POINT The meeting point is outside the end of the ‘Toaster’ building at East Circular Quay, which is closest to the Opera House. This is a short walk along the forecourt towards Circular Quay. The ARIA restaurant is located at the end of this building and will provide a recognisable landmark. A small map of the meeting point location is attached for your reference. This location has been chosen as it is slightly away from the Opera House and will move our group away from the large number of students that will congregate on the forecourt after the dress rehearsal and final performance. The students will be taken to this meeting point after the conclusion of the dress rehearsal (4:00pm). If you wish to meet your child and take them for dinner, the pick-up will be from this meeting point. We will need to meet back at this point at 6:00pm. Students are required to be seated inside the Opera House by 6:45pm in readiness for the concert. The performance will commence at 7:00pm. After the conclusion of the concert (approximately 9:30pm) we will bring the students back to the meeting point and you may collect and sign out your child. ATTIRE Students will be required to wear black pants, black socks and black shoes for the concert. They should wear their Clairgate school shirt to school, and will change into their PULSE shirt at school prior to leaving for the Opera House. It is important that the students are wearing the correct attire, as this will affect the overall look of the choir on stage. Hair is to be done neatly. No makeup or jewellery is required. Students will be required to bring their Clairgate hats for wearing outside during the day.

PULSE CONCERT AT THE SYDNEY OPERA HOUSE

Dear Parents/Caregivers

The date for the PULSE performance is fast approaching! Here is some information that you will require for the day of the concert.

DEPARTURE

Students will depart from School at 9:40 am on Thursday 4th July. Please ensure your child is at school before the first bell.

DRESS REHEARSAL

The dress rehearsal commences at 1:00 pm in the concert hall of the Opera House.

MEETING POINT

The meeting point is outside the end of the ‘Toaster’ building at East Circular Quay, which is closest to the Opera House.

ATTIRE

Students will be required to wear black pants, black socks and black shoes for the concert.

MEALS

Students will be required to bring recess and lunch with them. If you are not meeting your child at the Opera House after the dress rehearsal and taking them for a meal before the concert, then arrangements will also need to be made for dinner.

You may send some food with your child for dinner. Alternatively, Mrs Rogers, Miss Timbs and Mrs Mercer are prepared to organise for someone to go to McDonalds and collect some meals. Please note that if you decide to take this option, we will require your child’s food order to be written on an envelope with the exact money for the meal placed inside. A bulk order will be lodged with McDonalds and someone will collect the food from the restaurant, bring it back to the group and distribute it there. Teachers will not be taking the students to McDonalds.

BELONGINGS

Please ensure that your child brings minimal equipment with them to the concert. Food should be sent in plastic bags that can be disposed of after meals. All bags will need to be checked into the cloak room due to security arrangements at the Opera House. Mrs Rogers and Miss Timbs will have a big bag that student equipment will go into, and these bags will be checked into the cloak room. Please ensure that anything your child brings is clearly labelled with their name and school. Under no circumstances are students to bring electrical items such as Nintendo DS, mobile phones, iPods etc. No responsibility will be taken for these items.

AFTER THE CONCERT

The students can be collected at the meeting point in front of the ARIA restaurant after the concert. It may take some time to locate all the students from the stage, so please make your way to the meeting point and we will bring the students to you. Please do not take your child unless you have signed them out with either Mrs Rogers, Miss Timbs or Mrs Mercer. This is very important as the teachers need to be aware of the student’s whereabouts at all times.

Please note: It is your responsibility to ensure your child has transport home from the concert. If you are unable to come into the city to transport your child, you will need to make arrangements with another parent prior to the day. You will need to send a note into Mrs Mercer giving permission for that person to transport your child home. There will be no transport home from the concert available for students on the night.

CONTACTING THE CHOIR GROUP

Due to the size and nature of this event, you will be able to contact Mrs Keevill on 0490 714 565 if you are having difficulty finding the meeting point or the group (this number is for use on the 4th July 2019 only).

Finally, Mrs Rogers, Miss Timbs and Mrs Mercer would like to extend a big thank you to all the parents who have supported their children in the choir events throughout the year. We hope you enjoy the PULSE concert.
