Start By:

A. Remove the piston pump (hydraulic and steering). Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "PistonPump (Hydraulic and Steering) - Remove" for the correct procedure.

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of thecomponent should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internalmechanisms.

1. Remove bolts (1) from valve group (2). Remove valve group (2) from the piston pump.

2. Remove plug (3) from valve (2) .

3. Remove O-ring seal (4), ring (5), and needle valve (6) from valve (2) .



5. Remove O-ring seal (8) from plug (7) .

Sudden release of spring force can cause injury.

To prevent the possibility of injury, follow the procedure to relieve thespring pressure.

Note: Do not loosen adjustment screw or the locknut on plug (13) or plug (15) .

14. Remove guide (17), spring (18), pin (19), guide (20), and spool (21) from valve (2) .

15. Remove guide (22), spring (23), guide (24), and spool (25) from valve (2) .

16. Remove bolts (27) and remove cover (28) from housing (26) .


17. Remove O-ring seal (29) from housing (26) .

18. Remove plug (30) from head (31). Slowly remove bolts (33) in order to release the spring force onthe valve assembly.

19. Remove head (31) from housing (26) .

20. Remove piston (35) and remove spring (36) from piston rod (34) .

21. Remove piston (38) from piston rod (37) .

22. Remove pin (39) from head (31) .

23. Remove piston rod (34) from head (31) if removal is necessary.

24. Remove piston rod (37) from head (31) if removal is necessary.

25. Use Tooling (A) in order to remove bearing cup (40) from head (31) .


26. Remove bearing cone (42). Remove shims (41) that are underneath the bearing. Remove plate (43)

from the pump group. Remove Pins (Z) from the pump housing.

27. Remove bolts (47). Remove locking plates (46) and remove spacer plates (45) from swashplate(44) .


28. Remove plug (48) from housing (26) .

29. Remove rotating group (49) and remove shim kit (50) from shaft (59) .

30. For assembly purposes, place identification marks on pistons (51). The position of theidentification marks should correspond to the position of barrel (52) and plate (53). Remove pistonassemblies (51) and remove plate (53) from barrel (52) .

31. Use Tooling (D) and use a press in order to compress spring (56). Use Tool (B) in order to removeretaining ring (54) from barrel (52) .

32. Remove the following parts from barrel (52) : retaining ring (54), spacer (57), spring (56) andspacer (55) .


33. For assembly purposes, note the orientation of swashplate (44) to housing (26). Removeswashplate (44). Remove shaft (59) and bearing (58) from housing (26) .

34. Remove bearing cone (58) from shaft (59) .


35. Remove shield (60) from housing (26) .


36. Use Tooling (B) in order to remove retaining ring (61) from the housing. Remove lip seal (62)from the housing.
