TheCastlemaineStateFestivalhasaspartofitscharter,thesupportandshowcasingofnew

andinnovativeworks,andthesupportofworkemanatingfromcontemporaryartistic

practicefromwithintheregion.

Punctum,basedinCastlemaine,hasestablisheditselfasoneoftheforemostcontemporary

liveartsorganisationsinAustraliareceivingsupportfromtheAustraliaCouncil,ArtsVictoria,andRegionalArtsVictoria.ThroughtheirworkandassociationwiththeCastlemaineState

Festivaltheyhavedevelopedastrongaudiencefollowingandweareproudtohavebeenthe

firsttoshowcasetheirworkinour2005,2007and2009festivals.

In2011PunctumcreatedtheCastlemaineStateFestivalOpeningEventandweekend.The

Openingeventsetthetonefortherestofthefestivalandwasheraldedasoneofthebest

Openingsever!.

TheCastlemaineStateFestivalisdelightedtobeinapositiontostrengthenitsrelationship

withPunctumforour2013Festival.Assuch,wehavecommissionedPunctumtobethe

CreativeProducerforthe2013FestivalOpeningEventandIntegratedArtSpaces.

Punctumsapproachtoworkingwithabroadcrosssectionofstaffandparticipantsisopen,

generousandprofessional.Theirartandconceptualquestioningisrigorous.Furthertoour

deepenedengagementwithPunctum,wearealsoindiscussionwiththemaboutfuture

collaborationsbeyondourFestivalcontext.
