• Punjab Agricultural Management & Extension Training Institute (PAMETI) situated in Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana

• PAMETI Ludhiana got registered in March, 2000 and started preparing budget and training plans

• It physically came into existence after the proceedings of August 10th meeting of TDMC received in Oct, 2000.

• The final go ahead was on December 6, 2000, when the Director PAMETI joined.

• This institute had only core staff.

• The resource persons for various courses are drawn from 26 regional and national institutes including Punjab Agricultural University, Ludhiana.

About PAMETI

MANDATE

To Function as State level institute to provide Extension and Management input for extension functionaries.

To provide consultancy in areas like project planning, appraisal, implementation etc.

To organize need based training programme for middle level and grass root level agriculture and allied subject extension functionaries.

To develop and promote the application of management tools for improving the effectiveness of agricultural extension services through better management of human and material resources.

To conduct studies on agriculture management, communication, participatory methodologies, etc. as sequel to the feedback from training programmes.

Innovative Activities

• A State Level Sanctioning Committee (SLSC) appointing PAMETI as Technical

Support Institute (TSI) under RKVY scheme and is providing necessary technical

inputs, capacity building of officials and facilitate planning process for preparation

of C-DAP

Department of Rural Development, Punjab selected PAMETI as Capacity building

institute under Integrated Watershed Management Programme (IWMP).

PAMETI provided management consultancy to Military Unit of Ludhiana for

establishing Vermicomposting units.
