    I) Contract Labour (R&A) Act

    Andhra Pradesh Government has issued draft GO to amend the fees under AP Contract Labour

    (R&A) Rules, 1971. Existing and proposed are detailed below with regard to RC/Licence fees.

    The GO is appended.

    II) Shops & Establishments Act

    As per the Section 13 (2) (ii) of the Punjab Shops and Commercial Establishment Act, 1958,

    employer has to renew theirRegistration Certificate issued under the Act by 31st March of every

    year. However, the Punjab Government has issued notification exempting establishments from

    the above said provision with effect from 1st April 2012 to 31st March 2013. Now, this exemption

    is further extended for another period of one year from 1 st April 2013 to March 2014. The

    notification is appended.

    NOTIFICATION

    The following draft of an amendment to the Andhra Pradesh Contract

    Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Rules, 1971 issued in G.O.Ms.No.1313,Home (Lab.V) Department, dt.09.09.1971 and published in issued No.18 of

    R.s to Part-II Extraordinary Andhra Pradesh Gazette, dt.09.09.1971, which itis proposed to make, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-section (1) ofsection 7 of the Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970, (ActNo.37 of 1970) is hereby published for information of persons likely to be

    affected thereby, as required by sub-section (1) of section 35 of the saidAct.

    Notice is hereby given that any objection or suggestions in respect of

    the draft amendment proposed will be taken into consideration within 45(forty five) days from the date of its publication in the Andhra Pradesh

    Gazette and any objection or suggestion which may be received from any

    person with respect thereto before the said period will be considered by theGovernment of Andhra Pradesh. Objections and suggestions if any, shall be

    addressed to the Principal Secretary to Government, Labour, Employment,Training & Factories (Lab.II) Department through the Commissioner of

    Labour, Andhra Pradesh, Hyderabad.

    AMENDMENTS

    In the said rules,

    (i) For sub-rule (1) of rule 24, the following shall be substituted,namely:

    (1) Before license is issued, an amount of Rs.500/- (Rupees five

    hundred only) for each workman to be employed as contract labour, in

    respect of which the application for license has been made, shall bedeposited by the contractor for due performance of the conditions of the

    licence and compliance with the provisions of the said Act or the rulesmade thereunder:

    Provided that where the contractor is a Co-operative Society, theamount deposited as security shall be at the rate of Rs.100/- (Rupeesone hundred only) for each of the workman to be employed as contract

    labour.

    (ii) For sub-rules (1) and (2) of rule 26, the following shall besubstituted, namely:-

    (1) The fees payable by the Principal Employer for grant of a

    certificate of registration under section 7 shall be as specified below:-
