MOOSE INTERNATIONAL, December 21, 2012 - The Supreme

Council of Moose International today announced the retirement

of William B. Airey as Director General and CEO, and the ap-

pointment of Scott D. Hart, Executive Director of Mooseheart

Child City and School, as the next leader of our 1.2 million

member organization. Mr. Hart assumes his new duties immedi-

ately, while Mr. Airey, 71, will stay on with the Moose as a con-

sultant through January 31, 2013 to help in the transition.

Mr. Hart, 43, started his career as an in-home caregiver on the Mooseheart campus in 1991, fol-

lowing his graduation from Illinois State University. During the next 12 years, he accepted roles with

increasing responsibility before assuming his current position as Executive Director in charge of all

functions for the community and school for children in need in March, 2003. His tenure at Moose-

heart as Executive Director includes the establishment of national standards for residential childcare

facilities; the expansion of benefits for children on campus through both local and national programs;

and oversight of the current $10 million school renovation project scheduled to be completed in

2014.

Mr. Hart joined the Moose fraternity in September 1994 as a member of Batavia, IL Lodge 682. He

also joined Mooseheart, IL Lodge 2655 as a Charter Member in December 2006 and served as

Charter Governor from 2006-08. Mr. Hart has also been a member of Mecca Moose Legion 9 since

1999.

In accepting his new position, Mr. Hart said, "I know firsthand the outstanding dedication and care

that is provided by the men and women of the Moose around the world, especially in regards to

children and seniors in need. This is an exciting opportunity to work cooperatively with our Board

and introduce new ideas that will carry the fraternity forward, build our membership, and allow us

to help even more individuals and communities."

Mr. Hart assumes overall responsibility for Moose International's five organizational units: the Loyal

Order of Moose; the Women of the Moose; Mooseheart Child City and School; Moosehaven Re-

tirement Community; and Moose Charities, the organization's fundraising arm. Gary Urwiler, Super-

intendent of Education for Mooseheart Schools, becomes Interim Executive Director of Moose-

heart.

Mr. Airey joined the Moose International professional staff as Assistant Director of Membership in

1983 and was promoted to various positions within the Moose before achieving his current position

of Director General and CEO. He will retire as the ninth Director General, having started his term

in 2006 following the resignation of Donald Ross. Mr. Airey steps aside after leading the organiza-

tion to a positive membership gain in 2011-2012 and the launch of a new public awareness program

titled "Heard of Moose?"

A few words to our members at the beginning of a new year. (We’re still her after the 21st

of Dec.)

First, I truly hope all of you and yours had a wonderful Holiday Season. Our Lodge is in good shape financially so much so that we were able to join forces with St. Vincent DePaul and Winn Dixie to help make a large group of families very happy at Thanks-giving and Christmas. A much

Well it is the New Year!!

We had a very Merry

Xmas here. We had break-

fast with Santa and had

about 34 children, they had

a great time, Get R Done

Bob and Dale had the deer

with them and worked it so

the kid’s could talk and sing

with him. They almost had

more fun with the deer than

they did with Santa, Thank

you Bob & Dale. We also

for the first time had a

giving tree for a nursing

home, that was our Sarah’s

idea, we did a great job for

that also. All the kid’s and

the elders had a very merry

Xmas thanks to all of you.

Your donation is held by the Moose Foundation in the Mooseheart/Moosehaven Endowment Fund where over time this

money earns interest.

It is the responsibility of the Investment Committee and the Moose Foundation board to make decisions regarding the

distribution of money generated from the Endowment Fund investments.

The principal of the gift remains invested while only the Endowment Fund’s annual income may be grant fund investment

to Mooseheart & Moosehaven.

As the Endowment Fund investment total grows, so does the annual interest income. Therefore, you contribute to the

overall financial stability of Mooseheart & Moosehaven. The Donors Circle is a program of Moose Charities. Your individ-

ual cumulative Endowment fund donations made to Moose Charities are recognized with a distinctive pin and your name
