    SCHOOL SONG

Set here in the sands of Al Ghubra

Stands a jewel that is our school,

We dwell in it with hope secure

And learn its golden rule :

To be a friend to those in need

    To help, share and respect.

    And all of us together

Shall strive to do our best.

    Strengthen our minds and actions

    Along lifes rugged road.

Be our shield when times are rough,

Lord, guide us on our way,

    To smile when were defeated

    To rejoice wheneer we win,

    United in our comradeship

    Till victory is achieved.

A pride that dares and heeds not praise

Brightens our path with zeal. The

    aims and ideals cherished here

From our school we love the best.

Steadfast and loyal to the end

    Our banner high well raise.

With courage onward fearless go God bless our school always.

    MENTORSHIP PROGRAM

Mentoring has been one of the important student oriented servicesrenderedbytheschool.Earlieritwasknownasthetutorial system focusing only on the students of the senior school. However in 2008 the services were extended to all students from classes 8 to12. This has been done to create a cordial atmosphere in the school for the students and thereby help in their holistic development.

Each mentor (teacher) is allotted 8 to 10 mentees (students). The mentor maintains records of each of the menteestoprovidesufficientsupportasandwhennecessary. They are also in regular contact with the parents to ensure that there is adequate cooperation from them too. Monthly sessions are held for an hour to facilitategroupinteraction.Utmostconfidentialityandtrustisensuredbetweenthementorandmentee. Timely support is provided as and when required by the school counselor.

We all have a need for insight that is outside our normal life and educational experience. Thepowerofmentoring is that it creates aone-of-a-kindopportunity for collaboration, goalachievement and problem solving. Mentoring is a developmental partnership through which one person shares knowledge, skills, information, and perspective to foster the personal andprofessional growth of someone else.

Mentoring is a tool to support and encourage students to manage their own learning in order that theymaymaximizetheirpotential, developtheirskills, improvetheirperformanceand become the person they want to be. Mentoring is a powerful personal development and empowerment tool. It is an effective way of helping students to progress in their careers and is becoming increasingly popular as its potential is realized.
