thank you for purchasing the latest technology in Weld Purge monitoring. The “Weld Purge Monitor®” was invented by HFT® in the 1970’s and our Trade Mark is registered in Europe and USA.

the PurgEye® 600 Touch Screen Weld Purge monitor® is a computerised touch screen model with USB download for easy transfer of data collection for quality control and traceability standards.

Very easy to follow instructions will appear on the screen to guide you through the user menu.

this state of the art instrument offers a number of great features as shown below:• now including PurgeNet™ allowing control of automatic welding

power sources and connection of other accessories including visual on/off light for remote viewing, a dew point meter and an audible alarm.

the PurgEye® 600 touch Screen has a colour screen, it has touch screen operation and the easy to use menus are very intuitive.

to assist with these self explanatory instructions, we give some examples below of what you can expect to see on the screen.

touch the spanner icon and you can turn on the pump from that menu.

the speaker icon gives a menu for setting alarm levels and mute.

When you plug in a USB stick another icon will appear for downloading logging times.

it really is that simple to get started.

GETTING STARTED

TURNING ON and WARMING UP

the monitor’s power lead comes from a universal power source. once that is connected to the mains electricity, the unit will turn on the HFt® logo will appear initially.

Five seconds later, a red bar will appear whichwillfillto100%.Thisprocesswilltakeapproximatelyfiveminutes.

once the warm up process is complete, the menu screen will automatically appear.

Samplinghosefiltersmust be replaced regularly on the PurgEye® 200, 500, 600 and 1000 units.

Oncethefilterstartstodiscolour,itistimeforreplacement.

Please adopt a regular housekeeping routine to ensure this happens.

Dirtyorcloggedfilterscancausedamagetothepumpandsensor,will prevent the unit from providing accurate readings and ultimately put it out of calibration.

the menu screen allows the user to select which of the main display options to use, examples of these are shown at the top of this page.

TOUCH SCREEN OVERVIEW

Main Display, Icon and Menu Explanation:

the main display can be in one of three modes (see below).

When the user touches one of the top icons, a menu will appear. Simply select the required option to select.

ALARM MENU

Mute:

Select mute to toggle the mute feature of the sounder.

Threshold:

this is the level over which the alarm will be active.

Dead-band:

this sets an area where the alarm will not change state, to prevent rapid alternating when the measured reading is close to the threshold.

RELAY MENU

Threshold:

this is the level over which either relay 1 (R1) or relay 2 (R2) will be active.

Dead-band:

this sets an area where the relevant relay will not change state, to prevent rapid switching when the measured reading is close to the threshold level.

DATA LOGGING

Start Logging:

Select‘start’tostartanewlogfile.

Stop Logging:

Select‘stop’toendthecurrentlogfile,thiswillaskfortheserialnumber for the weld (only if auto naming is not ticked) this is used asthefilename.

Set Clock:

Select this option to set the current time and date. the ‘Set Clock’ option allows the setting of the clock to be used for date stamping thelogfilestothecorrecttimeanddate.

note: this icon will only appear if a compatible USB memory stick has been connected.
