INBRE Outreach Core

Purposes: 1) to provide fellowships and research

opportunities to undergraduate faculty and students at the INBRE Lead Institutions

2) to offer networking through an instate Annual Scientific Research Symposium

Summer Research Fellowships • For undergraduate faculty & students

• 6 faculty research fellowships

• 16 student research fellowships

• 10-week summer program, May - July

2003 Summer Students

• Research conducted in a state-of-the-art lab at one of the lead institutions

• Research Day for student posters and faculty talks at end of program

Annual Research Symposium• University of Arkansas, Fayetteville• Open to undergraduate science/math majors & faculty• Every fall – Next one: October 15-16, 2010

Students select a research lab at a Lead Institution (UAMS, UALR, UArk)

Arkansas INBRE provides:

• Stipend• Housing/Travel Allowance• Research Supply Budget

• Present a poster at Arkansas INBRE Research Day• Prepare a research paper
