editorialJust before August and several months aer the congress, we decided to issue our next pdf magazine.
The reasons are several like problems but we are hoping not to repeat that again and from

your letters and anything you would like to exhibit, to ask or suggest.
The future may seem uncertain, but we are preparing many surprises and we have many suggestions.
TV advertising, communication, even more education and promotion of PWS are just some of our
upcoming actions.
Dnt forget the three-day seminar by Tasos Vasiliadis in Istanbul 4 5 6 August or if you are thinking to

The base in which i always start from is the photo.
Although the video is animated, it still requires a good knowledge of it.
I work and function as a photographer and as a videographer too.
I was fourteen years old, when my involvement with the painting
prompted me want to become a painter. The print lms in my darkroom (an
old toilet that I converted) was the place where i lived for the rst time the
magic of image. Due to nance issues, I could not study painting, so I got
involved with photography.
But i never regreted, because I was able to create my own images,
real or ctional.
In the beginning of 1992, i patricipated in an education program of BBC and
worked in the newly established TV channel O LOGOS, gave me a new path
to animation that has its own magic. Due to good knowledge of the image, i
took over the part of creative documentary of the station. At the same time
I started working in lms as director of photography.

I have participated in many competitions around the worldwith several awards. My participation in the 3rd Convention con-
test of PWS last April, was very important. Although I thought that I
would get a prize, GRAND AWARD came with great surprise and emotion.
Surely the creative eort on a small island is limited by a number
of factors, but many times the love for creation helps in overcoming the
various obstacles to eorts at a small place. I believe that someone must
primarily be creator and aer technocrat.
At the wedding, I prefer to be the photographer because I have more
contact with the couple (man), while in the wedding video you are more
distant.
In the other hand, as a director of photography on documentaries orcinema, my contact with the human element is more intense and more
important.
In the photo, either static or animated, there must be good
knowledge of tools / equipment, lighting, framing, etc. But if you dont have
the eye, the experience and sensitivity, all these may not have any value.
As unpredictable and non anamainomeni was once the transition from lm
to digital image, the more and more I believe the future will be unpredict -
able at creation.

Do you believe thatyour photographs have
something to say?!
The aim of this publication, as was mentioned before, is not to feature only the community
of PWS and the photographers that participate in it. From the beginning we
wanted it to serve another aim. Any photographer who wants to can have their work
featured, even if they do not belong in the PWS but rather to other corresponding
associations!
In this way they will have the opportunity of making known their work to their colleagues
and in general to anyone who reads this publication. Therefore we will be
glad to feature any photographer, professional or not, in one of our columns even iftheir photograph is not related with to the genre of wedding photography. We believe
that through such initiatives we will continue to promote photography in Greece and
all together we add one small stone to the new reality that is created around us.
Those who are interested can contact us or send a sample of their work to the PWS email.
Many thanks!
Are you interestedin sharing them
with us?

I can imagine that also in other business sectorsthere will be collective eorts to inform members,
learning new techniques, highlighting some thatstand in what they do.Surely there will be for plumbers the Golden Spanner
prize or maybe the Silver bolt prize. There are also the specialsecret groups on facebook where dominates the illusion of se-crecy but always in order to nd solutions for these that concernus.
The feeling I have through out of all these eorts is thatthere is extreme introversion.Meaning that, all important actions that photographers make areexclusively for photographers.
Few or almost no actions for customers, which in ourmicrocosm, are the nal target, they can level up and leveldown photographers from any type of throne they hold, theyare the nal judge if the criterion of success is nancial, witharty expression akes.
Back to our stu.The world of retail has to learn about us.The star system that is being advertised by gurus, should benotied to brides.
extremeintroversion!
So much eort and working hours and experimentation
and study of each one, can bring in some the gentle pat on theback from colleagues, a moral justication (even PWS awards area moral vindication), but the real reward, nancial and lets nothide that we are not concerned about it, but also the recognitionof our value (vanity) from a wider audience, possibly irrelevant, will not mind us at all.
I would say that the opposite, is the main issue.
Newspapers, magazines, TV, radio.Plans are on the way.
Each of us should nd the right people that will work and tocommunicate all of this to our customers.
Unless you have found a way to persuade your client byshowing him the picture you have taken hugging an owl.In this case, we salute you.

Conclusion
I think that for a wedding photographer, Facebook is a better choice than
advertising in Google Ad Words at this time.
A very important advantage is the fact that only with Facebook we can focus
exactly on our common target audience with demographic criteria, which in our
case is none other than women.
The use of photography is also very important, since we live in the age of the
image and the object of our work is photography.
Finally, with Facebook we are building an audience (via Like to our corporate FB
page), with which we can interact and communicate again to slowly build a rela-
tionship with him.

The truth is that aer 40 the weight starts to become a problem.
Modern DSLR with lenses, are weighing a quite signicant weight.
Especially when you carry them over 20 years, this creates you a few glitches,
on the neck, wrists knees etc.
But what can you do since the possibilities of having these machines are irre
placeable.
But is it true or we think so;
FujiFilm X-Pro 1So I tried the X-Pro1 and tried to be a little PJ.
I was impressed by the photos of J e Ascought when I rst saw him in Ma sters
of wedding photography, not only for the quality of his images but also for the
way they work. He was using two tiny Leica with lm and it was actually like a
guest at the wedding.
The silent Leica without motor and with their
slight noise that caused by their shutter, al-
lowed him to pass unnoticed and captures unique
images. Aer changing into DSLR I do not know
if he is the same. Surely everything has its price
and we must choose what is important to us.
So I tried to become Je Ascought not with
Leica but with Fuji. Probably i did not make it and
probably i will never do, no matter what ma chine i use.
But I experienced the freedom these photog-
raphers enjoy and understood why those who
select this route, never return. I do not want to
daze you with endless technical details but i
will tell you my opinion on how it can be used.
I tried it in a wedding as a second photographer since
I did not dare to take the risk of all the wedding by
myself with this camera.
From the result I can say that there would be no
problem. Initially I struggled to handle it since I am
used to DSLR but aer a while I began to rejoice. This camera rocks in high ISO and at the brides
house was between 3200 and the 6400 which is
completely normal. I did not need any help from extra
lighting or ash anyway, even if I didnt had with me.

I am used with natural lighting but I always carry something in an emer-
gency. Now I did not. Fuji should have to fend for itself. During the ceremony
was approached by a guest who carried a DSLR and asked me, is it profession-
al?.
I felt so free free from all that I used to have with me that I began to feel guilty.
Did I do something wrong, how the guests look at me?
Eventually nothing went wrong since the night I came home with the
photos I wanted and so refreshed like no other time in my life. I had with me
Zoom 18-55 and 2 xed, the 35 1.4 and the 60 macro 2.
There was no general troubleshooting although I would like a larger telephoto
lens since the 60 one is about 90 in APSC, and for my standards is not enough.
The AF macro is slow as all the macro in the world, since the focus
ring does a thousand rounds to have greater accuracy. The other lenses focus
immediately but struggle a bit in the dark. Intelligent viewnder where you
can see through the lens electronically or outside of the same eyepiece
with an easy button. The screen on the back is large and relatively accurate.
The controls in Fuji for someone who works with Nikon sucks but not as bad as
Canons for someone who works with Canon they
sucks but not as bad as Nikon. In need, it can re-
cords Video too which I think is the best Video Ive
ever seen in 6400ASA especially with the 35 1.4
lens that transforms the night to a day. It has an
incredibly ecient system to shoot panoramas by
joining several photos together.
It can also takes up to 6 photos per second whichI tried when the bride came with her father and
then i had to erase a couple of hundred photos.
The image quality is not what you expect from
such a camera. It is what you expect from a top
DSLR camera.

The 16 megapixel are enough without being excessively.
Low Pass Filter has been removed which are typically found in HASSELBLAD,
FASE ONE etc giving unsurpassed sharpness. Noise in high ASA is there but like
a grain form. Some photographers will be pleasantly surprised of that because
it looks like lm. There is also chromatic noise to be removed in RAW, pushing
slightly Color noise reduction. There is not in JPG since cameras CPU has taken
over it.
I also tried it later in a products shooting (shoes).
The quality I got at 200asa was incredible, in sharpness and in color.
I do not know when the time will come that we will exempt from the enormous
weight that we carry but with this camera I would not have a problem to work on
an entire wedding.
On the positive side is the video
capture but it has many choices. From
the little time I tried image is excellent
since the lenses are the best that can be
encountered.
Another element that made me curious
and I tried was the option of ZEISS to
produce lenses for this camera. I thought
that if the leading manufacturer of lens
bothering about then it is certainly not a
random model.
My biggest impression was made by
aerwards when I saw that i have pulled
o a 32mm f1, 8 while Fuji has a 35mm
f1, 4.
The Fujis 35 one according to
journalists is the best lens that has
ever passed of its laboratories. I can
conrm that with whatever experience I
have by now. So full of curiosity I tried
to compare these two lenses in the real.
I took photos with Fuji and andimmediately aer without changing
anything with Zeiss. The only dierence I
saw was originally in color. The Zeiss was
a bit more neutral. But since I created a
prole for both of them the color was
simulated.
You got to use a microscope to see a ny
dierences in sharpness.

The conclusion is that these are the 2 best lenses I have ever tried excluding
some Fuji with Hasselblad, and ofcourse the old time classic Roenstock and
Schneider.
Where Zeiss has a clear superiority in is with the 12 one against the Fujis 14.
Reasons for someone to buy:
For a second camera (the rst for
the adventurous)
For use in dark conditions
Downloads, PJ
For advertising photography
For video if you something hap-
pens to your video camera
For use in places where business cameras are prohibited
(concerts, theaters, archeological sites, etc.)
For family use (no need to carry a DSLR)
