OUR VALUES,MISSION & VISION
The mission of the Pensacola Young Professionals is to share our passion for and belief in the Pensacola area, and to act as a catalyst for positive change in our community.
MISSION
Our vision is to make the Pensacola Bay Area one of the nation’s premier places to live, work, and play, and to serve as a model for all young professional organizations.

FRIENDSHIP
On behalf of the Pensacola Young Professionals Board of
Directors, Leadership Team, and Members, I’d like to extend
a heartfelt thank you to our sponsors and community for
their continued support over the past decade. PYP has
grown and flourished since its inception in 2006, and
we could not be the force that we are today without the
involvement, encouragement, and support of our sponsors.
PYP strives to help shape the next generation of community
leaders and to ensure our members Connect, Give, Grow,
and Live in our great community. Several of our members
have used PYP to facilitate professional and personal growth
opportunities which have opened doors to serve on
non-profit boards, advance in their careers, and volunteer
with several organizations to make Pensacola a great place
to live, work, and play.
The continued support of our sponsors and community will
enable us to grow even more in the years to come, and
will allow us to continue to be a catalyst for positive change
in the Pensacola Bay Area. Thank you for your support.

CONNECT
The Member Services team
CONNECTS young professionals
with like-minded individuals and
community opportunities by
providing an array of networking
events and educating members
on PYP’s purpose and passion for
the Pensacola Bay Area.
“PYP provides fun ways of meeting people and experiencing different places and locations that
the people of Pensacola boast of.” - Jen Fink

CANDIDATE FORUMThis year, PYP hosted two
separate forums for the local
candidate races. These forums
focused on Education and
Economic Development.
PORT OF PENSACOLAPYP members toured the Port
of Pensacola to learn more
about the issues that face this
vital part of our community.
PYP CONNECTThe PYP Connect event serves as
a new-member orientation that
provides an overview of each
team for those who want to learn
more about the organization.
As members, we GIVE our time,
talent, and treasure to improve
our community. Our team
believes we make Pensacola
better through action and by
serving as examples of positive
stewardship for other members
of our community.
Many of our members in PYP
are actively involved with boards
for Rotary clubs, non-profit
organizations, and businesses
in the community. This
involvement lends leadership
experience and fosters valuable
skills needed to direct large
organizations.
“I’ve loved being a part of an organization that
was bigger than me - that would continue on
long after I’m gone - and that would have such
an impact on the community that has already
given me so much.”
- Meg Burke

GIVE

The Quality of Life Team leads PYP in organizing
and planning volunteer projects in the Pensacola
community for the year and helps fulfill PYP’s
mission to act as a catalyst for positive change.
“I was looking for a professional organization
that promotes volunteerism and community
work. PYP was just what I was looking for.”
- Mehrdad Valinasab
We continue to GROW as leaders
through personal and professional
development. PYP provides an
opportunity for our members to
enrich their lives and GROW both
personally and professionally. By
seeking professional development
with other like-minded individuals
with differing viewpoints
and opinions, our members
are exposed to development
opportunities not available
through other avenues.
“PYP made a huge difference in my life - I learned more
about leadership and professionalism through my roles
in the organization than in any other avenue in my life,
including my job.
It’s also been a pleasure to meet so many excellent
people over the years and watch how PYP helped them
grow, just as it did for me.” - Jonathan Thompson

GROW
DISC Assessment
Members had the opportunity
to take the DISC assessment
which is a personal assessment
tool used to improve work
productivity, teamwork and
communication.
Brand Yourself Workshop
This workshop taught attendees
how to showcase their talents,
skills, and personality in today’s
social world to get noticed by
potential employers and clients.
“I have met the most amazing people
through PYP. It has been exciting to
see what they have accomplished
already, but I am especially excited
to see what current PYP members
accomplish in the future with the
skills and connections they have
made in PYP.” - Grayson Miller
The mission of PYP’s Professional Development Team is to promote the professional and personal growth of its members and also help improve the leadership in community.
This group meets monthly to plan and organize upcoming events and to conceive new ideas for promoting leadership and professional development in the Pensacola Bay Area.
We LIVE in a vibrant, dynamic
community and not a day goes
by that we do not recognize
how privileged we are to be
a part of it. Our members
are dedicated to active
participation in the community
through the preservation of
the natural treasures in the
area, civic involvement, or by
supporting and participating
in the art, music, and culture in
which we take so much pride.
“PYP is a great resource to connect young professionals to each other and their community. PYP has connected me with leaders in the community and introduced me to people that I aspire to be.
I truly believe that the organization allows you to get what you want out of it - whether it’s a better social life, a chance to develop your leadership skills or to volunteer with your peers.”
- Karina Unger
