“Pyrasulfotole provides a highly effective alternative mode of action to control broadleaf weeds and help cereal growers manage resistance to older chemistry.”

Craig White, Bayer Crop Science

The discovery of a truly new mode of action herbicide is a very rare event.

www.ahri.uwa.edu.au - 2009

“ In fact, there hasn’t been a herbicide with a new mode of action introduced to the Australian market for over 20 years, stressing the fact that we must preserve the use of the herbicide resource we have today.”

Comments: Anything with Velocity in it has been the standout treatment. Velocity does not appear to have damaged the crop. Herbicides such as Tordon 242, Starane, Hotshot that were slow to show effect have also been very active at the 36 day post spray rating.

Conclusion

Pyrasulfotole (Group H) was introduced by Bayer in 2008. Combined with Crop Safener - Bayer products can be safely applied early = small weeds & maximum Return On Investment Pyrasulfotole products recorded the best control of matricaria and statice in a range of trials over a number of years. Pyrasulfotole is effective on a broad range of broadleaf weeds, Bayer has an extensive Integrated Weed Management Program at www.weedresistance.com.au
