Happy Spring Friends and Neighbors!

Welcome to the first edition of my quarterly newsletter.A top producer with Houlihan Lawrence, I live in Pound Ridge and am enamored with all things Northern Westchester. I am very much a part of our community, volunteering with Bedford Historical Society, Junior League Northern Westchester and Fox Lane. My whole life, I’ve always given back, and I am taking the same approach to my real estate business. Each quarter I will donate a part of my commissions to a local charity. This quarter, I am starting with A New Chance Animal Rescue.

I was raised in an architecturally significant home in NYC and have a deep seeded respect and adoration for architecture and the meaning of “Home”. It is four walls containing life- history, meaning and spirit. Before real estate I was a publicist in NYC; a career that gave me an edge to help me get the word out about my listings and our community. My social media and blog outreach help get my seller’s exposure on a local, regional and global stage.

My family moved here from Santa Fe, NM where I built, bought and sold three homes. I know what it takes to sell a property –design, presentation, timing and working with sellers to help them turn their home into a product, and ready for the market. Real estate uses all my talents to help clients achieve their goals with their home, their four walls. It’s a journey and no two are alike and I love every minute of it! Won’t you join me on yours?

Betsy raised her children in New York and Santa Fe. While in Santa Fe, she had the number one rated weekend talk radio show, Humanity: the Experience. She built houses from the ground up, designed their interiors and landscapes, and renovated a “tear down” into a magnificent compound she and her family enjoyed until moving back to New York in 2016.

Now living in the Pound Ridge fixer-upper she renovated extensively, Betsy is very involved in the community. She loves this area for its open, green space and relaxed, friendly residents. Her children are in the Bedford School District which gives Betsy the inside scoop on what to do, where to go and how to navigate all Westchester has to offer families and adults.

“I’m sure you know them but if by chance you don’t, I’d like to introduce you to G.E.Brown, a favorite grab and go spot - so many delicious offerings made daily. Stop in any time from 7-7, 7 days a week and get fed!

GEB: We have recently started cooking privately for clients who have special dietary needs. We’ll be launching more formal menus soon but for now, we offer a wide range of vegetarian, vegan, paleo and keto menus. Stop by for a consultation and pricing information!

GEB: The shop is our second home... the best part is being able to know almost everyone by their first name (and coffee order). We feel very connected with our customers and the town.”

Here are snippets of my blog interviews, full interviews can be found on my website, with this quarter’s local vendors: Bedford’s G.E. Brown and Pound Ridge’s Martin House Workspace.

“Martin House Workspace is a fantastic community oriented business right in heart of Pound Ridge. A self proclaimed, “water cooler for digital nomads”. I connect with

Erin Trostle, fellow Pound Rodger and it’s founder to discuss.

When asked why she chose to open this communal share space in our town:

MH: I'd heard that because Pound Ridge doesn't have a train station, it has an unusually high proportion of home-based workers. I'd also heard that the businesses

in Scotts Corners needed more foot traffic. And as someone who was working from home, I'd often wished I had an office in town. I thought a co-working space would be

a win-win for home-based workers and for local merchants.

MH: There's a lot more going on at Martin House besides people typing on their laptops. We host a variety of events, and you can rent the whole space if you'd like to host your own event. Members can invite guests for meetings or consult with clients. Starting this spring, we'll be trying out a new after-hours concept!”

If you have a business in Westchester, NY or are a local making a difference in our community, contact me today for feature consideration – I’d love to hear from you!
