MODERN RECRUITMENT DIGITAL, SOCIAL, TECHNOLOGY…

Modern technologies have become an important element in more than just people’s everyday lives. It would be

in vain to look for any branches of knowledge where advanced technologies and methods that until recently

could only be found in science-fiction films are now used. And that’s only the beginning, as the time of artificial

intelligence is inevitably coming our way. In many cases, it is still in the phase of research and testing, but some

prototypes can already function independently.

Cutting-edge technological progress has also occurred in the area of marketing and recruitment. The

model of settling online advertising activities for the impact or e.g. remarketing has currently become

the new standard. Even 10-15 years ago no one even dreamed of such solutions. That’s why today we

are no longer surprised by the fact that an Internet user looking for a job sees ads with job offers when visiting a website

with culinary recipes.

For the last 8 years, marketers proclaim each subsequent year as the “year of mobile”. This does not

happen by accident. The number of smartphone users in Poland has grown from 33% in 2012 to 87% in

20171. In its efforts to adapt to users, the market is dynamically increasing its activity in the area of

advertising and applications on our phones. But that’s not all. According to the latest information, in order

to adapt the advertising message to a specific person as best as possible, certain companies are spying on us. One of

the theories in this case mentions Google, which uses the Android system for this purpose – however, there is no final

and explicit proof for this type of practice...

As regards recruitment, new technologies are more often used for more than just acquiring candidates via

advertisements. Video and messenger apps allow recruiters to conduct a job interview online. This allows them to save

time and, therefore, shorten the recruitment process that often tends to be prolonged. This is also a perfect solution for

people who are in different places around the globe. Conference or job fairs popular in the HR industry are increasingly

utilising technological innovations to attract a candidate. One of the examples can be VR goggles.

Although the beginning of this technology reaches the 90s, goggles are only now gaining in popularity

and give us the opportunity to leap into the world of virtual reality. An interesting solution could be to

create an interactive journey around the work establishment and present it to potential candidates via VR

goggles.

Huge popularity gained by social media in the recent years has resulted in social networking platform

currently becoming a “must have” of each professional marketing strategy. As we found out from

a conference for European social media agencies organised in Dublin, Facebook does not want to limit

itself solely to the role of a social networking platform. In the nearest future, it intends to compete with

more than just Internet media, but also traditional television. That’s why the giant created by Mark Zuckerberg wants to

bet on video content. According to initial estimates, video content is to represent 75% of all content on the platform by

2020. Traditional video formats are more often being diversified by adding new options. An example is the possibility of

live broadcasts which can be used for the coverage of important events. Broadcasts will be of great value when opening a

new recruitment office or conducting an interview during job fairs.

MODERN RECRUITMENT DIGITAL, SOCIAL, TECHNOLOGY…

The optimisation of marketing activities and processes does not make much sense, if we

do not concurrently run advanced analytics on our activities. This requires not only using

extensive analytical tools, but also significant technical know-how. This often entails the

need to properly introduce and configure tracking codes. Until recently, the majority of

marketing specialists and experts was therefore dependent on the help and support of the

IT department. As we know from experience, this cooperation can work out in different

ways... Adecco has used a specialist tool – Google Tag Manager. This application allows

to implement analytical codes independently, without the need to involve the IT

department.
