What kind of media institution might distribute your magazine product and why?

After researching IPC Media, Bauer, and Prometheus global media magazine distributors I have decided that Bauer was the best company to distribute my music magazine.

This would allow for my magazine to reach a wider target audience.

This would suggest that they would welcome my magazine product as a fresh project.

This means that the magazine will be able to target my typical audience and will support the fact that the artist featured on my magazine is British.

For my music magazine I would approach the Bauer company magazine distributor as they have high ratings of sales from the music magazines they currently supply to the public and therefore my product would benefit from this. I also feel that this company would benefit from distributing my magazine as it will attract additional people to the magazines they currently distribute in the fact that my magazine would be more affordable to people such as students and so would attract a wider audience to Bauer products.

I feel that they already distribute a magazine similar to mine in the fact that the genres are closely intertwined; this magazine would be ‘Q’ which is a pop based genre music magazine. My magazine offers content on the genres of pop music and alternative pop and therefore this is why my music magazine would be in a similar group to both the ‘Q’ and ‘MOJO’ magazines which are already distributed from this company. However my magazine also targets a slightly younger audience than ‘Q’ magazine as my magazine initially aims towards 17 year olds at the youngest and ‘Q’ magazine aim slightly older. Therefore the typical target audience that are attracted to these existing magazines this distributor would suit my music magazine as it targets a similar audience and so I would be able to gain a good level of purchases.
