The client is a major car-manuacturing brand in Europe and a pioneer in mass produced diesel engines. They are well known or the radical improv e- ments in quality and history o revolutions they create in the automobile industry. Their continuous quests or technical e xcellence and innovations have helped them leave a mark o their own in the automobile sector. We need an application that presents a highly realistic demonstration of our new cars to the users. The application should also give the users the same look and feeling of the car even if they are not able to visit the store. The application was a part o client’ s advertisement plan. They were launch- ing two new car models and were aiming to reach out to a larger audience. This application was also expected to present a highly realistic demonstra- tion o their cars in iPhone and android devices. We recognized that creating 3D-Augumented reality and driving experience were the mos t important actors in the project. Having studied the require- ments in details, we concluded that 3D Augmented Reality, 3D rendering solution, Open GL, Core animation and Continuous scroll should be used to meet the client requirements. Virtual experience or the application was created using 3 D-Augmented Reality and Open GL. Our designers used unique and innovative animation techniques to provide attractive and seamless transition rom one view to another. W e also integrated a ‘photo-sharing’ eature into the application to allow users to click and share photos. Driving experience, a prominent eature o the application, was created using

a set o pre-recorded videos whose playback rates were controlled by device

motion. Motion detection was done with the help o devices like accelerom-

eter and gyrometer. This unctionality helped the users get an experience o

driving the car and with the choice o diferent videos given; they got a eel

o driving in diferent landscapes too.

Car dealers were plotted on the map based on user’s region detected by Core

Location. At a time, the application displayed a maximum o 50 dealers in

and around the area. In addition to this, it also supported calling dealers,

visiting their website and mailing them.

The model selector option in the application helps the users select the

car o their choice.

The application gives a ull 360 view o the car and displays diferent

colors it provides; there by giving the users the flexibility to configure

and view the car o their choice.

The driving experience eature in the application gives the users an

experience o test drive. They can also get a look and eel o the inte-

rior and dashboard o the vehicle.

The application helps the user locate the dealers in the area o their

choice.

Augmented Reality: A technology that superimposes a computer-generated image on a user's view o the real world; thus providing a com-

posite view.

Unity 3D: Unity is an integrated authoring tool or creating 3D video games

or other interactive content such as architectural visualizations or real-time

3D animations.

Open GL: OpenGL is a programming interace mainly or 3D applications.

It renders 3D objects to the screen, providing the same set o instructions on

diferent computers and graphics adapters. Blenders whole interace and 3D

output in the real-time and interactive 3D graphic is done by OpenGL.

Core animation: Core Animation is a data visualization API used by Mac

OS X v10.5 and iPhone OS to produce animated user interaces.

The popularity o the application turned it into an efective advertisement or

Peugeot’s car models, which in turn resulted in a significant increase in sales.
