Regional Tabligh Workshop Adopts a Comprehensive Approach

A one-day workshop catering for the developmental needs of Tabligh was organised by Majlis Ansarullah North East, in compliance with the recommendation of the Shura 2012 Sub-Committee. The workshop was held in Al-Mahdi Mosque, Bradford on 18th August. Zoama Majalis along with their Muntazimeen Tabligh

and other Ansaar Daian-ilallah attended.

Tahir Selby, Missionary in charge, gave a speech on the importance and methods of Tabligh. He motivated the Ansaar to use door-to-door leafleting as a primary means of dis-tributing Jama’at leaflets. He also focused on how to be consistent with non-Ahmadi con-tacts. Laiq Ahmed Tahir, missionary followed up with a speech in Urdu, in which he focused

on the true teachings of Islam delivering the message of peace.

In the second session, focus was placed on adopting new methods of Tabligh, using the Internet and various social media. These options were explained by Qureshi Fazal Imran, Naib Nazim Tabligh. He described how to reach out to the target audience using Twitter while maintaining members’ privacy. Majlis Hartlepool’s annual report for the year was dis-played as an example to be followed by the other Majalis.

The workshop allowed members to interact during its brief session on ‘sharing experience'. Naseem Dar and other Ansarullah members discussed their experiences with the audi-ence before Rashid Amini, Regional Nazim, concluded the workshop by giving a speech on

being persistent with Tabligh and charity collection.

A couple of recommendations made at the end of the workshop were: A comprehensive development program needs to be produced which could help Ansaar to

improve their knowledge about Islam and how to teach others.

2. A global forum for the exchange of ideas about teaching and learning material should be developed so that members could benefit themselves and also learn from each other.

Majlis Hartlepool was able to arrange another successful Peace

Conference at the James Cooke Conference Suite, Stockton on Tees on 22nd August 2013. An invitation flyer was also designed to invite people to the conference which had been distributed through a leafleting campaign throughout the month. Besides that, invita-tion cards were also sent to various organizations including politi-

cians. This event was attended by 30 guests.

The speaker’s panel comprised of the Missionary Incharge, the Re-gional Ameer and the Regional Nazim North East Majlis.

The conference started with an introduction to the Jama’at. Mr Mustjab Khokhar, Zaeem Ansarullah Hartlepool, was invited to recite some verses from the Holy Qur’an. After the recitation, Tahir Selby, missionary introduced Jama’at Ahmadiyya. He gave a very clear de-scription about the True Islam, the Prophet Muhammadpbuh and the Promised Messiahas. He

also explained the differences between Ahmadi and non-Ahmadi Muslims.

Mr Bilal Atkinson delivered a speech on the topic of “message of peace”. He emphasized how the world could overcome contemparay problems by following the teaching of the Prophet Muhammadpbuh and the guidance of the Promised Messiah, Hadhrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmadas. A Question and Answer session was held after speech. The audience seemed keen to learn more about Islam Ahmadiyyat. A lady from the Refugee council gave very pleasant comments about the Jama’at members and how the Jama’at is participating in building bridges in society.

The conference was concluded by an address by Mr Rashid Amini. He spoke about the charity campaign and the amount Ansaar collected for eye operations, “Water for Life” and various other local charities.

Sheffield Interfaith Group Fast and Observe Salat at Majlis Sheffield’s Eid Celebrations

On 11th August 2013, Majlis Sheffield invited their non-Muslim friends to join an Eid celebration. 12 members of a Doncaster inter-faith group visited Baitul Aafiyyat mosque. Remarkably, 4 members of the interfaith group had observed the fast in the first week of Ramadhan to show unity with Muslims. A delegation of Sheffield An-sarullah had previously visited their Church and provided them with

an Iftari dinner.

The celebration was held over Zuhr time and the guests expressed an interest in observing Salat. After Salat they asked a number of questions relating to Salat, Ramadhan and Eid. Afterwards guests were escorted by Dr Manan Sheikh to the Qur’an Exhibition on the ground floor where they showed a keen interest. There was also a display of the Jammat’s literature. Each guest was given a book on the life of the Holy ProphetSAW One of them was blind and asked if he could get an audio version of the Qur’an as he did not know Brail. He was provided a link to Al-Islam.org where he could access a variety of

Holy Qur’an Exhibition at Darlington Centre

Majlis Hartlepool organized a Holy Qur’an Exhibition on 24th July in Darlington Central Library. Holy Qur’an translations in different languages, including a copy in Brail and other Jamaat’s literature were exhibited. During the exhibition, the Ansar also visited the town to convey the message of Islam to people on the streets and in the market. Rasheed Amini, Regional Nazim, visited the exhibition and presented a copy of the Holy Qur’an to the librarian. Tahir Selby, Missionary in charge of the North East along with Mustjab Khokhar, Nazim Ansarullah Hartlepool, Rizwan Illyas and Fazal Imran, Regional Naib Nazim An-

sarullah, North East manned the exhibition.

Welsh Dignitaries and Charities attend Cardiff’s Eid Celebrations

Majlis Cardiff hosted a highly successful ‘Eid Celebration’ on 18th August in Cardiff as

part of its Tabligh program. A total of 92 non-Ahmadi guests attended including Welsh As-

sembly Member (AM) Councillors, honorary diplomats and the police chief.

The proceedings started with the recitation of the Holy Qur’an with translation by Rohail Sadat. It was chaired by Ch. Waseem Ahmed, Sadr Ansarullah, UK. The welcome address was delivered by Munawar Mughal, Regional Nazim South West, followed by a brief intro-duction to the Jama’at, by Sadr Majlis Ansarullah UK. He mentioned the Charity walk held in Manchester on the 30th of June 2013 which raised funds for a number of national and

local charities.

Mr Naveed Mughal explained the significance of Ramadhan and Eid celebrations. The pro-ceedings were followed by short speeches by the guests. AM Andrew Davies (Conservative

Party Leader and opposition leader in the Welsh Assembly), said:

“I am very impressed by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and the work that they are doing to promote peace, harmony and better understanding within our society, in order to build bridges amongst the communities. By organizing such types of events, they are making an enormous contribution to our city. I feel that it is particu-larly important that we recognize this contribution and come together and celebrate

as one.”

AM Mohammed Asghar (Shadow Minister for Communities, Welsh Assembly) explained the significance of the month of Ramadhan and commented “I believe their motto ‘love for all hatred for none’ is seen clearly in today’s event.” AM Nick Ramsay and William Graham expressed their delight at being invited to participate in the Eid Dinner. Assistant Chief Constable, Liane James, gave assurances that the police will do its upmost to uphold the safety and security of the various communities living in South Wales. The Honorary Consul for the Republic of Belarus, Michael Rye, said that he considered himself a good friend of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and is thrilled to see the community grow and spread in many countries over the years. Finally, Councilor Cecila Love of Cardiff Council pro-posed a vote of thanks to all pointing that our Community believes in loyalty, freedom, equality, respect and peace, with the aim of spreading harmony and promoting integration

based on mutual respect.

Representative of six charity organizations also attended. These included the Royal British Legion, Barnardo’s Cymru, and Kidney Research UK. Cheques for £2000 each, raised by the Manchester Charity Walk, were presented to Raven House Trust and Liswerry Heart Link. A large amount of free Jamaat literature was provided to the guests. A translation of selected verses of the Holy Quran and sayings of the Holy Prophetsaw in Welsh were dis-

played for the benefit of Welsh speakers.

The following Ansaar and other members of Cardiff Jama’at made a special contribution to the successful event: Feroze Ahmed Domun, Sadat Ahmed, Haris Lateef Malik, Moham-med Anwar, Safeer Ahmed, Safeeruddin Khan, Saleh Baqi, Naveed Mughal, Muhammed Asif Nasir, Ahmed Qasim, Mubarak Ahmed, Naseeruddin, Ehsan Malik, Mubasher Khalid

The South Region Majalis arranged Eid celebration to convey the message of Islam Ah-

madiyyat to 110 non-Muslim and Muslim guests.

Majlis Bromley / Bexley held a combined Eid Dinner on 18th August for 20 guests. Dr Sha-bir Bhatti chaired the programme and Faiz Ahmad Zahid, missionary delivered a speech about the concept of Eid in Islam, teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammadpbuh and an in-

troduction to Ahmadiyyat.

On the same day Majalis West Croydon / Thornton Heath also held a joint Eid dinner. Mubarik Cheema, Muavin Sadr Ansarullah, chaired the proceedings and a speech was de-livered by Hafiz Zaferullah, missionary on the topics of Eid in Islam, teachings of the Holy

Prophet Muhammadpbuh and an introduction to Ahmadiyyat. 20 guests attended.

Dr Ejaz ur Rehman, Naib Sadr Ansarullah, chaired an event on 18th August organised by Majlis Shirley. Momin Zahid, missionary, spoke on the subject of the day. Eight guests en-

joyed this programme.

On 24th August 2013, Eid celebration was held by Majalis Purley/ Norbury with 40 and 20 guests respectively at their separate events. Mubarik Cheema, and Naseem Ahmad Ba-

jwa, missionary attended.

Majlis Walsall appreciating Reviews for Peace Seminar

A successful Peace Seminar was held in Aldridge on Sunday 11th August 2013 attended by 39 native English guests. Many of those who attended gave positive feedback. Mr. Rich-ard Jolly, a speaker from a local church, remarked, "I was not aware that you were such a peace loving community. I was very happy and surprised to know how peace loving your community is. When I return home I will let people know how different you are from what

we have been told about you".

Miss Sandra, representing Saint Thomas Church said, "The speech which was delivered by the Regional Missionary, Abdul Ghaffar was heart-warming. What book should I read to understand your community in detail.” A copy of the “Life of Muhammad’’ was presented to her. Miss Margaret, from Aldridge Methodist Church, along with Mr. Richard Jolly, made more positive comments, "All of your speakers who have spoken about peace have said nothing but the truth and I think those who give such a message about peace can only be peaceful.” Quaker’s Religious Society of Friends also gave positive feedback. Doro-thy Levesley said about peace, "You people do not only say but also practice it, and if

there are more functions like this in the future I will try to bring in more of my friends".

Majlis West Hill organised a Tabligh Exhibition and food stall at the Effingham Village Fair in Surrey on 8th June 2013. The exhibition stall attracted lot of visitors with some of them

holding discussions with our members.

The event provided an opportunity of delivering the message of Islam to 1400 people. 800 people visited the exhibition and 1600 leaflets were distributed and 52 discussions took place with non-Muslims. 6 people wrote remarks in the visitors’ book and left contact details.

The food stall offered Biryani along with other snacks produced by 5 families in the Maj-lis. Free Biryani was offered to all stall holders at the fair along with leaflet packs, which they happily accepted. Of the 180 people who visited the food stall, 27 discussed and re-

ceived information about the Ansarullah charity.

Village Fair organizing officials promised to display the stall pictures on their website. A do-nation of about £200 was raised for the Ansarullah charity. Majlis Raynes Park set up very productive Tabligh stalls at Hollymount Primary School’s Summer Fair on 6th July 2013. Zaeem Aala London region provided the Tabligh stalls and set up a gazebo. Five members of Lajna set up a juice and milkshake stall and helped out

for the duration of the event.

An estimated 500 people saw the Tabligh stall with 110 non-Ahmadis expressing an inter-est in the material. 30 items of free literature were distributed while 3 copies of the Holy Qur’an and 4 other books were sold. The following made a notable contribution during the day: Khalid, Zaeem Aala, Sami Sahib, secretary Tabligh London region, Haroon Rashid, Malik Abdul Basit, Qamar Ahmed, Ahad Ahmed, Zia ul Rehman, Mubarik Cheema, Muavin

Sadr, Saleem ullah Kahlon and Ataul Awwal Abbasi.

Residents Enjoy Eid Street Party in Putney

Majlis Putney organised a Street Party in Balmuir Gardens on the 11th August 2013 to cel-ebrate Eid. Residents of area were invited and 20 non-Muslims local residents helped with setting up the party. Ansarullah provided a range of delicious food and snacks. Some of the residents also brought along food and everyone enjoyed eating together. A bouncy

castle was hired for children with a financial contribution from local residents.

Murtza Ahmad introduced the Jama’at and this set the scene for several one-to-one dis-

cussions throughout the day.

95 Non-Muslims, all of whom seemed to enjoy themselves judging by positive verbal com-ments on the day and by the cards and letters of thanks subsequently received. Local res-idents were particularly complementary of Mr Imtiaz Ahmad for arranging such a nice event. He was helped by 5 members of Lajna and 3 Khudams along with Basharat Sar-

roya, Khalid Mahmood, Abdul Basit, Ayaz Mahmood and Atiq Ahmad.

MAJLIS WIMBLEDON TABLIGH ACTIVIES IN CITY AND VILLAGE

Majlis Wimbledon held a Tabligh stall at Southfield station on the 13th of August 2013. Many people visited and made various interesting remarks. A book, Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam, and 73 different leaflets were distributed. Similar event was held at Tabligh stall at Tattenham Village on July 22nd 2013. Local people appreciated their ef-forts and were much impressed the Ahmiddya peace promotion. A total of 176 leaflets

were handed out to villagers.
