Who is it for?

This course offers training in how to effectively listen to staff and how to talk to them correctly. Learners will discover how to maximise the flow and effectiveness of communication, improve morale, build trust and gain commitment from others.

What is it about?

As people, we communicate virtually all of the time, however not everyone does it as well they could. This communication skills course has been developed specifically with the needs of today’s manager in mind. The ability to delegate is one of the key indicators of an effective leader. This delegation course is suited to managers, supervisors and team leaders across all sectors, who need a better understanding of how and when to delegate. The course is aimed at newer managers, or those without formal training, who would like to learn delegation best practice. This course is less suitable for experienced managers, or those with no direct reports or authority to delegate.

What is it about?

Clear, timely and purposeful delegation can boost the productivity of individuals, teams and organisations, yet many managers find themselves lacking the skills or the confidence to do it well. This practical course provides an insight into what to delegate, when, to whom and how. It will also provide coaching and development techniques that you can put into practice immediately, as the ability to provide clear support and feedback is fundamental to delegating effectively.

What are the benefits of effective delegation?

One of the biggest barriers to organisational success is not having the right people doing the right tasks at the right time. As a result of this, time and resources are wasted and staff morale is depleted.

Effective delegation can overcome these issues by making sure line managers are maximising potential and productivity of their team, making the organisation more cost effective. When it is planned and executed effectively, delegation enables organisations to tap into existing talent and making efficient use of their most valuable resource, their people. This in turn will maximise staff morale and retention.

By attending this course you will gain:

o the ability identify relevant tasks for delegation and provide an appropriate rationale

o the know-how to effectively delegate a task using a systematic and proven seven step model

o strategies to identify and overcome the barriers to effective delegation

o skills to deliver motivational and developmental feedback to enhance future performance

o the flexibility to adopt an appropriate management style to maximise motivation and minimise risk

One of the biggest barriers to organisational success is a lack of cohesion and consistency in managing and developing performance. This can mean time and resources are wasted as neither the individual or teams are achieving their true potential. This in turn can lead to frustration and a general decline in morale and therefore productivity.

Effective performance management can overcome these issues by ensuring managers set clear objectives, offer appropriate support and direction throughout the process therefore building competence and commitment in staff.
