54% Teachers in Indonesia needs to improve their quality. (Kemendiknas 2010)
Among 2,92 millions of teachers, there are only 51% of them who get their first
degree (bachelor’s degree). (kompas.com)
2,06 milllions or 70,5% teachers fulfill their obligation to get certification (declare
that they are professional teachers), 861.670 have not. (kompas.com)
Problems Causes Low Quality of Indonesian Teachers
•Educational system of Teacher-training College
•Indonesian Government has not prepared a system to regularly maintain teacher’s performance after passing certification
•Provincial level of in-service teacher training is too expensive, yet it only facilitates a small number of teachers
