For use on all plastered or
rendered corners where a true,
sharp corner is required.
Protects and reinforces plaster
where it is most vulnerable.
Angle Bead
T
LFixing
Apply plaster dabs to the wall
at maximum 600mm intervals
(to both sides of the arris for
angle bead). Press the wings of
the bead into the dabs of plaster.
Alternatively fix with corrosion
resistant nails or suitable adhesive.
Ensure the bead is plumbed and squared. The line of the
nose of the bead will determine the thickness of plaster.
Cutting and Joining
Cut the nose of the bead with a fine tooth saw or hacksaw
and the wings with tin snips.

Plastering
Select suitable bead for thin
coat, internal plaster or
external render.
Take care not to damage the
bead. Wipe off any excess
plaster while it is still fresh.
Do not scrape or chip with a trowel to avoid damage to the bead.
The finishing coat should be just proud of the angle bead, allow
to wash over the nose of the bead when the plaster is being
trowelled. Avoid excessive polishing of the plaster arris.
Remove protective tape on movement beads after plastering.

Used where the underlying
substrate changes, or where
minor movement in the
structure beneath the render
is expected.
Movement beads can also be
used where changes in render
colour are specified.
Movement beads should
NOT be used over structural
movement joints.

clear of the underlying
substrate.

Readily bends to create curves
and arch forms for decorative
plaster requirements in thin
coat and dry lining
applications.
Metal lath can be used as a carrier for plaster or render finishes
on backgrounds where it is not possible to achieve a direct bond
i.e painted surfaces, glazed brick, timber frame, insulation
materials and friable masonry.
The metal lath is mechanically fixed to the structural background
and a key is formed where the plaster / render penetrates and
envelops the metal strands of the lath.
Two types of metal lathing are available from Expamet : Riblath
and Expanded Metal Lath both in galvanised and stainless steel.
Expamet Professional PVCu beads may be fixed onto the face of
the lath using mechanical fixings, dabs or wire ties. Ensure that
all metal components used in an installation are of the same
material type or compatible materials.
