Dear ONE Producer:

Leap and the net will appear. Many people wouldn’t take advice from a magnet they received in the mail. But for Jill Ramsier and David Forrester, this is the phrase that started it all. It became their mantra as they abandoned the safe, secure jobs of the corporate world to pursue their passion for wine and the environment. A few short years later, the first winery in Orlando was born – Quantum Leap Winery.

Quantum Leap’s mission is simple. To reinvent the wine-to-market delivery process. Every step in Quantum Leap’s winemaking process guarantees to reduce the environmental effects associated with traditional winemaking. This involves importing wines from around the world to finish, blend and package them in Orlando, as well as using reusable kegs to store wine on tap.

We think the story of Quantum Leap Winery is a perfect fit for your show ONE. It tells the story of two friends merging their passion for fine wine with their mission to protect the environment. Your viewers will enjoy a glimpse into the allure of wine culture as they learn about reducing the carbon footprint of traditional winemaking.

We’re offering the story of Quantum Leap Winery exclusively to ONE to use as a feature. The team at Quantum Leap will share their expertise and innovative methods with your viewers. They will provide an exclusive tour, where you’ll learn about the benefits of keeping wine on tap and receive a chance to interview the staff. We’ll contact you Monday, May 8, to see if we can help with a feature on Quantum Leap Winery. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,

Wine On TapAbout Wine on Tap: “Wine on tap” is a storage method for keeping the equivalent of 26

traditional wine bottles in a reusable keg.

How it Works: Reusable, stainless steel kegs hold 130 glasses of wine.Inert gas pushes wine out of the keg and prevents oxygen exposure. A high grade draft system helps maintain the quality of the wine.

Traditional Bottles: About 88 percent of wine bottles end up in landfills. The bottling process consumers more energy and resources than any

other part of the wine making process.

Sustainability: The reusable nature of stainless steel kegs, combined with their ability to store large amounts of wine, helps to reduce Quantum Leap’s carbon footprint. A single keg can be reused a minimum of 200 times. That’s 5,200 bottles saved from a landfill.

Freshness: With wine on tap the first glass is guaranteed to be as fresh as the last. Unlike traditional wine bottles, wine on tap uses inert gas to eliminate oxidation and to prevent wine spoilage.

Convenience: Kegs are easier to transport than traditional bottles. They also take up less inventory, trash and recycle space due to their compact nature.

Profitability: Wine on tap is a profitable way to reduce waste. By reducing the risk of oxidization wine on tap eliminates the typical waste a restaurant would have from wine going bad in bottles. Also, the compact nature of the kegs makes them a cost effective way to store and purchase wine.

Jill Ramsier

Owner and Founder

Jill Ramsier found a unique and eco-friendly way to marry her love for business and marketing with her passion for the wine industry. Thus, Quantum Leap Winery was born.

Ramsier’s love for wine began at a very young age. Her parents began taking her on trips to Napa Valley where she fully immersed herself in wine culture. Ramsier credits her parents with playing a role in the cultivation of her “super palate.” By allowing their daughter to have very small portions of wine with her meals, Ramsier began to truly understand how wine compliments food at a young age.

Ramsier completed her college studies with a degree in Marketing and Hospitality. She began her professional career as a student intern at Red Lobster Restaurant. Shortly after her internship, Ramsier began working for the company as its food and beverage manager. Ramsier says, “I thank Red Lobster for allowing me to grow and increase my knowledge of the wine industry.”

During her time in the food industry, Ramsier met and teamed up with her friend, David Forrester, to open Orlando’s only winery – Quantum Leap. After three years of preparation, followed by one busy year of planning, this duo of wine enthusiasts began the first eco-friendly, sustainable winery in the state of Florida. By increasing the use of “wine on tap” systems, coupled with wine bottles weighing 35 percent less than traditional bottles, Quantum Leap quickly blossomed into a success.

Although Ramsier occasionally enjoys a nice glass of pinot noir, she’s typically found exercising at her local gym, reading a book or trying out new recipes. She also loves to spend time with her dog, Kaley. In fact, Kaley often comes to work with Ramsier and even has a bottle of wine named after her.

Ramsier’s passion for wine is more than just a business venture. It’s a lifestyle she shares with those closest to her. She truly embodies the motto “If you do what you love, you won’t work a day in your life.

David Forrester

Owner and Founder

David Forrester is no stranger to fine wines. He’s spent 13 years traveling the globe, forming partnerships and even cultivating his idea for Orlando’s first and only winery – Quantum Leap.

Forrester’s history with wine is all about relationships. He discovered his love for wine through a friend during his enrollment at Williams College in Massachusetts. Later, when Forrester married his wife Edna, it was a case of Chateau Margaux he received from that same friend that strengthened his passion for wine and wine culture.

Forrester began his professional career as an entrepreneur. From the beginning he sought out ways to run his business ventures in an eco-friendly manner. Back then Forrester’s concern for the environment led him to start up a tire recycling company. Within a few years, Forrester’s business venture transformed into a successful company. He then sold his recycling company and merged his passion for wine and the ecosystem by opening the most innovative and eco-friendly winery in the state of Florida.

When he isn’t traveling the world and building partnerships with other wineries, Forrester is finishing, blending and even packaging wine right here in the heart of Orlando. His vision for Quantum Leap is simple. To reinvent the wine to market delivery process in a sustainable manner. His business model for Quantum Leap involves finding sustainably grown wine, wherever it is around the world, and transporting it in large vessels to Quantum Leap’s facility.

Forrester takes pride in the success of his wine on tap system. Wine on tap utilizes reusable, stainless steel kegs to eliminate waste from traditional wine bottles. Forrester believes having wine on tap benefits more than just the environment. Because the nature of the system eliminates wine spoilage, the consumers first glass tastes exactly the same as the last glass. With no wasted wine proprietor’s benefit from increased cost efficiency; while the community benefits from less waste disposal.

Forrester believes wine is about passion and the environment is worth saving. So he took a quantum leap into this business venture to share his passion with others. British wine critic Michael Broadbent once said, “Drinking good wine with good food in good company is one of life’s most civilized pleasures.” This is what Forester gives to the Orlando community with Quantum Leap Winery.
