College Corner

Dear Farnsworth Families,

The end of the school year is quickly approaching! I have

thoroughly enjoyed getting to work with all the students at

Farnsworth Aerospace PreK-4 these past nine months. It was a

great year of learning, exploring, and achieving.

My classroom lessons this quarter have been centered on the Early

College theme of "Interests and Strengths." Learning about

interests and strengths can help students connect what they are

good at and like to do with the world of work. Many of these lessons

have been focused on perseverance, and learning that we all have

to work hard to develop our talents and strengths.

At the end of May all 4th grade students took a field trip to

Farnsworth Aerospace Upper Campus. They had the opportunity to

meet Upper Campus staff, talk to current students, go for a tour of

the building, and try out the cafeteria. This field trip, in addition to

classroom lessons focused on the 4th/5th grade transition, are put

in place to make sure that all students feel comfortable with the

upcoming transition to the new building.

As summer approaches, please consider enrolling your child in one

of the many summer learning (S-Term) programs offered by SPPS!

The S-Term programs are free, include breakfast and lunch, and

provide transportation for most students. For more information

about S-Term, please visit spps.org/summer. Please also feel free

to contact me with any questions related to S-Term programming,

applications, or enrollment.

SPPS will also be offering free meals to children 18 years old and

younger this summer. To find out more information about this

Dear Farnsworth Families,

¡El final del año escolar se acerca rápidamente! Yo disfruté mucho

trabajando estos últimos nueve meses con todos los estudiantes en

Farnsworth Aerospace PreK-4. Ha sido un gran año de aprendizaje,

exploración y logros.

Mis lecciones en el salón de clases este trimestre han sido centralizadas

en los temas de "intereses y fortalezas" de la temprana universidad.

Aprendiendo acerca de los intereses y fortalezas se puede ayudar a los

estudiantes a conectar lo que.es bueno y me gusta hacer con el mundo

del trabajo. Muchas de estas lecciones se han centrado en la

perseverancia y en el aprendizaje de que todos debemos trabajar duro

para desarrollar nuestros talentos y fortalezas.

Al final del año escolar, todos los estudiantes de cuarto grado realizarán

una excursión al Farnsworth Aerospace Upper Campus. Ellos tendrán la
