From the President’s Desk

As we plan for our future through our support of the Green and Gold Foundation, we must

reach out to others who share our vision. We must not limit this support to one or two public affairs but rather, we must join together in all productive ways which make ours the whole effort it has the potential of becoming. Please join the Board and me in this commitment. With a united front we can and will meet all challenges ahead.

In looking back to the beginning, we have continuously lent a helping hand to those in need in the greater Lake Wales area. Our formula for success is simple…offer opportunities to those who had none through a sound Intake and Referral Program, Education and Recreation. Youth and adults in the area we serve come to the B Street Service Center to avail themselves of programs offered at the Center. In many instances we call on our community partner agencies to assist directly or in conjunction with us to provide needed assistance. This is a brief summary of our mission at the B Street Center. To this end, we again invite you to be a part of the Story through your personal involvement, with gifts of cash, stocks, real estate, in-kind material, supplies and service or any type of planned giving.

The above pronouncement is all about doing the right thing for your community and the wonderful people who live here. As we transition to a new leadership team (Terrye Y. Howell, Bishop Roscoe Williams and Cassandra L. Denmark, Esq.) for the next few years, please note that the old guard will not be “fading into the woodworks”, but rather stepping aside to provide as much assistance as necessary for a smooth transition. As in the past, 100% of your donation will go toward making a positive difference in community members lives.

It should be further noted that the new leadership team is experienced, knowledgeable, dependable, talented and responsive to community needs. To wit, the new team has been and will continue to provide necessary leadership, programs, activities and accountability in helping to touch and improve lives in the Lake Wales Community.

We thank you and are grateful for your support over the years.

…He that walketh with wise men shall be wise; but a companion of fools shall be destroyed. (proverb 13:20)
