Rules – for Regional Points League, County Competitions and Grass RootsAll schools must be members of the NSEA and provide, on the entry form to the secretary of each competition they enter, their membershipnumber. Only the Team Manager (Team Trainer, Supporting Teacher, Riding Captain or the appointed responsible adult at that competition) ofeach school is to deal with the Secretary, (for declarations, enquiries, objections etc.). This should be the person listed on the NSEAMembership Form.

Objections must be made by the Team Manager only, within five minutes of the end of the class, in writing, with a£30 deposit. Video/photographic evidence is not admissable.

Anyone riding at the event must be suitably dressed in the correct attire including a current approved hat which must becorrectly fastened when mounted.

GENERAL RULES 2013TeamsT1 All riders to be from the same school.T2 Teams to be made up of three or four riders, the best three scores to count.T3 In COUNTY Competitions and CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFIERS, a horse/rider combination may compete in two teams at the same

competition, providing that they are at two dierent heights and these must not be Mini and Open. At local level (RPL - Regional Points League) a horse/rider combination may compete in three teams at different heights. No adult or non-NSEA member may ride any horse/pony at this competition inc. warm up

RidersR1 Riders must be in full time education at the school/college they represent in 2013. (U19 on 1 Jan 2013)R2 Riders who are home schooled may only compete as individuals (unless there are a number of riders from one

family or are educated as a home schooled group).R3 A rider may only compete once in any team, therefore cannot compete two horses in the same team.R4 A rider may not compete in both Mini and Open classes. Once a rider has competed at Open level they may not at Mini.R5 For Mini (70cm) competitions, the age of the rider must be 13 years and under on 1 Jan 2013 except Grass Roots competitionsR6 Boys and girls compete in the same classes.R7 At competitions where both teams & individuals are taking part, the scores of all team competitors, obtained whilst riding as a team

member, will automatically also count as their individual score when determining placings except at this show.

HorsesH1 Any horse competing at 1m – 1.05m may not also compete in the 70cm class at the same competition.H2 FEI Pony/JRN horse/rider combinations are not eligible to compete in any 80cm classes.H3 Horse/Rider combinations that have competed at BE or BS competitions may not compete in Mini (County or RPL) or Grass Roots

classes. However they may compete in Mini qualifiers for the NSEA Championships (see specific rules).H4 Stallions may only compete in school competitions with the prior permission from the competition organiser.

This must be sought before the entry closure date and must wear a stallion disc, as stated in the BS Rulebook.H5 All horses to look clean, neat and tidy with correctly fitting tack at all competitions.

Points LeagueP1 The location of the school is irrelevant. Teams can accrue points at any competition listed on the NSEA

website but the points gained will be applied to the league table for the region in which they were gained.P2 Individual points leagues will run in areas where there is a demand for them (currently North East region).P3 For the Individual Points League, the combination of horse and rider will accrue points. Therefore if a rider

competes on more than one horse, they will gain points on each horse separately in the relevant league table.P4 If you do not wish your child’s name to appear in the results, you must contact us immediately.

County CompetitionsC1 To be included in this competition, the school must be situated in the county stated.C2 The county competitions are for teams and individuals. The winning team and individual will be awarded the

county title for that year at Mini, Novice, Intermediate and Open level.

Grass Roots G1 These classes are designed to introduce riders to team and individual competitions.G2 All entrants must be NSEA members and come from the same school at Grass Roots qualifiers.G3 In Grass Roots classes a horse may be ridden by two different riders in the same class.G4 A competitor in these classes may not have successfully competed in NSEA 80cm classes, or above, or have competed at the NSEA

Championships.G5 At Grass Roots the 70cm (Mini) class is open to riders up to the age of 18 years.G6 This class (Class 8) may be split into Juniors (U14 on Jan 1) and Seniors (U18 on Jan 1). G7 Competitors in Class 5 may be led and in Class 6 may be assisted by the Team Manager but all riders must be independent at the

Regional Championships.G8 Jumps will be coloured fences but will not include fillers or complex spreads. These classes will be single phase.

BRITISH SHOW JUMPING RULES 2013Disclaimer – The organisers of this event have taken reasonable precautions to ensure the health and safety ofeveryone present. Everyone must take all reasonable precautions to avoid and prevent accidents occurring, and must obeythe instructions of all ocials, stewards and organisers. No horses to be left tied up outside lorries or trailers. All hay and droppings must bepicked up. No lungeing or long-lining or galloping on the show ground. Team Managers, in signing the entry form, are declaring all riderssuitable for the classes they are entered into. No liability is accepted for loss or personal injury unless caused by the negligence of QueenAnne’s School. Entrants are advised to put in place their own insurance to cover injury to horses.
