Quellenhotel & Spa News Letter 2011

My news letter has to start this year by reporting on our celebrations held for our 25th anniversary during 2010. Special events were held to mark not just the occasion and the very existence of our thermal spa facility but also the incredible progress which has been made over the years to update, expand and improve the guest experience. We have grown from the opening of a small thermal pool 25 years ago to a well appointed 4* hotel with 2 large spa and wellness facilities – one public and the other private for the hotel residents. Our commitment to the environment continues with a major project in 2011 to eliminate our need for oil by recycling heat from our thermal water. We have continued to receive increasing numbers of English speaking international guests and are pleased to announce that we can now count many of them as repeat guests who tell me they enjoy the relaxed and friendly environment we offer here while being amazed at the extent of our spa and treatment facilities. In August I was proud to host a special Yoga and Pilates week for Niedra Gabriel, formerly of The Body Holiday, Le Sport in St Lucia. There was some concern that her clients would appreciate our unsophisticated Austrian way. The result speaks for itself, Niedra is returning next year for 2 weeks and so, it seems, are many guests! Other plans for 2011 include an additional English special week – Aqua Fit and Pilates in May. This will be run by Helen Atkinson from London who will be taking full advantage of our fitness pool for an hour’s intensive aqua exercise every morning with Pilates later in the day. I and my team are proud to welcome international guests and offer you a warm and friendly service. We look forward to greeting you in 2011 at our Haven of Peace and Wellbeing!

Salinarium – Enter the special salt chamber for a 45 minute session of compete relaxation while breathing deeply in salt infused air. The atmosphere in the chamber is particularly bene cial to our lungs and upper airway. Only €6 a session!

The Summer Party – The hotel management team and directors mingled with local celebrities, hotel guests, friends and employees for a full evening of fun and entertainment. Typically the preceding heat wave broke that day and the event could not be held outside by the pools as planned. With thunder and lightning outside we had our own electric atmosphere inside with music and dancing well into the early hours!

A Golf Event in August was another attraction which was much enjoyed by invited business colleagues as well as international friends. A similar event is planned for 2011 to include hotel guests who wish to take part in this fun tournament followed by Austrian entertainment!

Our Special Visitor! In September we were excited and amused to welcome Larry Hagman (JR Ewing from Dallas!). We were given the opportunity to show him around Quellenhotel & Spa while he toured the region. He has a fan club based in Graz whose members were thrilled and honoured that their hero should visit them in person!

Helen lives and works in West London and offers an enjoyable though challenging 1 hour Aqua Fit class as well as group and private Pilates classes to a loyal following of clients. Golf Event 4th August 2011

This is a day when we like to mix our local business friends with international guests. Join us for a fun stableford competition followed by dinner with prize giving and live music – all in a friendly and informal atmosphere.

2011 Refurbishment The hotel will close from 4th - 14th July to enable our next improvement phase to take place. By the end of this date the bedrooms in the 4th and final wing will be totally renewed.

Alternative Energy According to our commitment to the environment we are investing in a new heating system. Wehave discovered a way to make good use of the excess thermal water we have on site. This will betapped and channelled throughout the whole property thus relinquishing our normal requirementfor oil which has previously been necessary in some areas.

Local Taxi SubsidyThe Bad Waltersdorf Tourist Board now subsidises local taxi fares for our hotel guests. For all journeys within our local area there will be a charge of only 1 Euro! Please ensure you mention this whenbooking your taxi through hotel reception to enjoy the opportunities we offer in our community.

The kitchens will be refurbished and appointed with new fittings and appliances.
