QUESTION 2- HOW DOES YOUR MEDIA PRODUCT REPRESENT PARTICULAR

SOCIAL GROUPS?

Page 2: Question 2

On the front cover of my magazine, my main image looks very rebellious and charismatic, this will attract male teenagers and men of around the ages 20, this is because she looks seductive, stylish and outrageous, as she is making direct address with the readers which creates that sense of intimacy. There will also be teenage girls or women of the same ages aspiring to be or look like her, and look up to her as a role model. I took a mid shot of the girl to make the picture look fun and quirky. I wanted her to break the conventional teenage look and go for a different style, because it ties in with the house style of my media product. She is represented in a positive light, as being young fun and energetic which is also displayed throughout my other pictures for my tag lines. They are successful young people that will be admired and looked up too.

My artist is also represented in a positive light within the text on my double page spread, it is a question and answer with the reporter and the artist, her response is very optimistic and enthusiastic. Which shows she really cares about her career in the music industry and she uses enticing language and spoilers to make her fans want to read on and look up to her as a role model. Also at the beginning of her response she doesn’t gloat about how successful her band is, or how she is the lead singer and all the spotlight is on her, which could potentially have an impact on the attitude of teenage girls in school or women in their jobs. Also because my artist is in a group, ( with another male) and she is the main one it attracts a wider audience as it is breaking the normal conventions.

Page 4: Question 2

For my contents page, my artist is featured with the other band member. Their pose makes them look happy, energetic and carefree, which is represented in the music they produce, teenage girls and boys can relate too this and will be interested in reading their story and listening to their music.

This photo is of another artist that is featured inside my magazine. She

is another young solo female artist that has recently split up from her

group to pursue a career by herself, this would attract and inspire older

females or teenage girls to look like her and follow her attitude as her

body language is a connotation of rebelliousness and independence. It

might also attract males of the ages 18-20 because she look’s very

mature and sexy. She is wearing red lipstick which suggests she is

powerful and dominating.
