Bauer Media GroupPublishers like ‘Bauer Media Group’ might distribute this product. This is because this publisher publishes magazines such as ‘Q magazine’, ‘closer’, and ‘mojo’. These are all music magazines like mine. For example the music magazine ‘kerrang’ is described on ‘Bauer Media Group’ website.

“Kerrang! is the most exciting youth culture brand in existence”• This is how the magazine ‘kerrang’ is similar to my brand. ‘Kerrang’ is designed for

being interesting and exciting youths and this is much similar to my aim. My target audience is 15-27’s so I am aiming to make my magazine much better than any other music brand aimed at youths. Therefore Bauer Media Group would be a suitable distributor for my magazine.

These magazines want to show all the latest music news and gossip about music artists. They display a range of media work including magazines, radio, digital and TV. This is much like my company as I was planning on making a product that is different to other products to make my magazine better than other ones on the market. This is much like Bauer media group. I used a survey to find out what my customers want on the magazine in order to make a product that the audience are looking for. This is the same as the core value that Bauer Media Groups value about being driven by their customers. My magazine has been designed with features that are appealing to my target audience such as free festival tickets that will make my magazine different to others. Therefore, my product would be distributed by a company like Bauer Media Group.

Bauer Media Group has roughly the same target audience as I do when publishing music magazines. They aim for roughly 15-27 year olds who enjoy music and want to find out more about the artists so my magazine will feature the same content because we are both trying to attract music lovers. My magazine would support ‘Bauer Media Group’s’ portfolio because theirs and my magazine contains music information and features some celebrities.

Bauer Media Group state that they are “The UK’s most influential media brand network”. Therefore, this means that they are providing up to date content and appealing to the right target audience in order to become so well known. I made my magazine so that it contains up to date music information which attracts people as they want to be up-to-date with the music industry. Therefore my magazine is much like Bauer Media Group’s magazines.

The house style of my music magazine was affected by my choice of the media institution because ‘Bauer Media Group’ used their 3 colour scheme of black, white and red in their ‘Q magazine’. I specifically used the black background with the red text which makes the magazine appealing. I also used the same contents page layout as they do with the headings and the column structure with the pictures of the artists. Q magazine is very eye catching due to its colour scheme so this is why my music magazine uses the same layout and colour scheme.

The unique selling point of my magazine would be that it interviews an artist on the double page spread. This makes the magazine much more special as it shows that the company has got in touch with the artist themselves and found out more about the artist face to face rather than just celebrity gossip. This means that the magazine has much more realistic information which makes more people want to read it. It also makes the magazine company get a greater reputation if their content is not false and the audience like to read a magazine that their favourite artists are interested in. On ‘Q’ magazine which is part of Bauer Media Group they include interviews on their double page spread and this could be why they are so appealing to their audience.
