HOW DID YOU ATTRACT/ADDRESS YOUR AUDIENCE?

I attracted my audience by using a bright pink colour as my main house style choice. I did this because my magazine is

specifically aimed at the female pop fans, and especially this issue as it is a ‘Woman of the Year’ issue. My research also revealed that women prefer it if the colour scheme is

aimed at them entirely.I also chose interesting cover lines that again would appeal

to women that were pop fans as I based this issue of the magazine on female pop artists.

Finally, I made sure my magazine was very reasonably priced as it is often students who would buy music

magazines, especially pop magazines and so the price had to be appropriate for those on a low income to ensure they

would buy and continue to buy my magazine.

I believe that the contents page targets the correct audience by appealing again to the sophisticated female

which is why I used black and pink as the main house style again.

Also the cover lines and images are hugely geared around femininity and the success and power that female artists

have had in the pop genre.I have used a basic san serif font but it does have quite a

modern, fashionable look to it which is very much how the genre itself is presented and so this will appeal to regular

magazine buyers and pop fans.

My double page spread again stays with the pink and black sophisticated yet feminine house style and this continues to

lure in my target audience.The headline grabs the readers attention and as it again focuses heavily on the success of a female artist attracts specifically females. The photograph I used is a close up

which is more inviting and as the artist is looking towards the article, encourages the readers to do so too.

It was also important to make sure the outgoing, fun and loveable personality of the young female artist came

through well in the article as pop is a very ‘fun’ genre and so the artist I used represented that well.
