What have you learnt about technologies from the process of

constructing this production?

Throughout making my media product, I worked on lots of different software's, technologies and power points which in some cases I had only just learnt about, they were:

• PRESENTATIONS:Adobe Premiere proMicrosoft Office PowerPoint 2007Prezi http://prezi.com Slideshare http://www.slideshare.net QuarkXPress 7Microsoft Office Word 2007

• PHOTOGRAPHS:Fujifilm FinePix JX550 Red Digital Camera

• EDITING PHOTOGRAPHS:Befunky http://www.befunky.com/ Adobe Photoshop CS2

Adobe Photoshop CS6

Different rolesI had to take on different roles whilst producing my media products roles like; Journalism,

photographer, graphic designer, proof reader, designer and editor. All of which I found fun to do, some more then others though, but all just as important as I was able to produce my media product so that it would look professional as possible. My favourite role was a journalist because although it was probably one of the hardest things to do whilst producing my media product but it was really fun to be able to do things independently and that meant sorting out interviews with band members and then being able to write it out. But the experience was really exciting. Although, some of the journalist was boring, like producing questions for the double paged spread so that my interview was the best it could possibly be and essentially being entertaining for the audience so that they would want to read the interview. Photography was quite hard since I had to make sure the angles were right and that the pictures that I took fit into the genre of the magazine, so I had to prevent my pictures from coming across as part of a fashion magazine and to look like a music magazine. Also, had to be in control of the photo shoot, so that meant choosing certain positions. The photographs were the main part of the magazine in which if the photographs looked bad it meant that the whole magazine would look unprofessional.

Blogging

I used blogger to keep track of all my work and putting up all my work that I had done. I made sure my work was up to date and organised so that I could get the best grade I could get for the entire thing. I made sure that all my work was on the blog and kept track of my research and my planning for my magazine. As well as the evaluations which were about 50% of my work. The blogger allowed me to use certain websites like Slideshare and Prezi to upload my work. The meant I had to find to the code and them pasting it onto the HTML.

QuarkXPress

QuarkXPress is something that I had never used before so it meant that I had to spend more time trying to figure out how to use it but after a while I got to grips with how to use it. I used it for my content page and my double paged spread. I am just glad that I now understand QuarkXPress as it meant I could make my content page and double paged spread as professional as possible, I could not do the content page and double paged spread without QuarkXPress. It helped me organise my media products in a more professional way. I was able to grasp the idea of how professional magazines are made and that I could make a professional magazine by myself which was very impressive in my opinion. I am now confident with using QuarkXPress.

Photoshop

I used Photoshop a lot throughout making my media product like editing my front cover and editing the sizes of pictures or the colour. Photoshop was something I was familiar with as I had used it before but since my media product it meant I could progress my skills and now I am much more confident when it comes to Photoshop.

Prezi

Prezi is a presentation software that allows you to make presentations to get your ideas across. I used Prezi through out my media product, I had never used Prezi before so it took me a while to figure it out but after messing around with it I found it quite creative and fun to use. I like using Prezi as you are able to make your writing look a lot more exciting then just writing it on Microsoft word, and it is also just another way to get your ideas and work come across in more of an attractive way by using colours, sizes, adding pictures, using different shapes, arrows.

Slideshare

Slideshare was a good as most of my work I would use was a power point and although I had never used it before it was easy to use as you just had to upload your work and then copy the HTML onto your blog and then it would come up. The only bad thing about Slideshare was the fact that I was unable to upload any moving images or sound and you had to fit the writing further up as it would cut the bottom and miss off some of the writing so I had to make sure I had the writing further up. But overall I liked using slide share.
