What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing the production?

From constructing our film I have learnt to use many different new technologies. Everything that’s involved in the creation of our film is a new technology, starting with the internet, I used www.blogger.com to upload and share the research of my film, this website at first was quite confusing, however I learnt how to navigate the site and how to use other websites such as www.slideshare.net to upload PowerPoint and word documents which I then uploaded onto my blog. I also developed my understanding of how to use iMovie HD, I had already worked with this software before but I learnt more advanced techniques of editing movies such as sound manipulation.

I used a Canon digital DV camera to film and upload clips onto the Mac computer via the USB cable that connected to the camera and computer. I learnt how to use all the functions of the camera such as zooming in and out, replaying clips and how to upload clips from the camera onto the Mac. Tripods were also available however I didn’t learn how to attach the camera to one and how to use it while filming but, other people in my group were able to use the tripod.
