question 6

In the preliminary, quite a lot of camera, editing and even sound mistakes were made, like the dialogue shared between Kamal and George was edited over the top, and cuts had to be made to avoid being able to see our lips moving in different ways to what we were actually saying. Also, there were point when George was walking and part of his head was cut off by the camera, something we realised was a big mistake to make during filming. After we realised these mistakes, in the main task, we focused on making everything seamless and without flaws. Mise en scene was an important factor in this, like having the same positioning of bottles between shots, and editing the videos so the cuts happened at the appropriate time.

In the preliminary, quite a lot of camera, editing and even sound mistakes were made, like the dialogue shared between Kamal

and George was edited over the top, and cuts had to be made to avoid being able to see our lips moving in different ways to what

we were actually saying. Also, there were point when George was walking and part of his head was cut off by the camera,

something we realised was a big mistake to make during filming. After we realised these mistakes, in the main task, we focused

on making everything seamless and without flaws. Mise en scene was an important factor in this, like having the same

positioning of bottles between shots, and editing the videos so the cuts happened at the appropriate time.

We did have to refilm our main task 3 times though, something that didn’t happen during our preliminary at all. This was because we couldn’t get enough actors out, the acting was poor from George and Nathan had to go home after acting as the

homeless man so we instead decided to make Kamal the tramp, in order to allow us to refilm as many shots as we liked, and to prevent any continuity errors between

shots. Mise en scene has improved since our preliminary, and our decision to have a tramp in the main task not only added to the theme of the scene taking place in a derelict area, but also helped cut up shots of me walking down the tunnel quite

effectively, without so would have made the shot too long and boring, something we didn’t want to happen at all. Music was a major decision in our preliminary aswell as our main task, in our preliminary we had music from Youtube that didn’t fit to what

was on screen at all, something we both wanted to improve on in our main task, which we thought would work using ‘Arabella’ by Arctic Monkeys. This at first

seemed best to fit the theme, but over time we realised it was boring, too monotonous and bland, so we decided to change it up coming across ‘sTRONGER’ BY

Kanye West, which definitely helped with out video.
