This is a scene of an ancient Mayan death ritual from about 250 A.D. in Central America. Noble members or important rulers were placed in tombs with their bodies wrapped in cotton, surrounded by precious objects. Inside the vault, the rocks were carved in shapes of gods and animals, especially using the color of red, which was associated with death. Mayans also believed in human and animal sacrifice.

The Hindenburg was an 804-foot-long airship of zeppelin design. Though it was designed to be filled with helium gas, the airship was filled with highly flammable hydrogen. On May 6, 1937, while landing at Lakehurst, N.J, Hindenburg burst into flames and was completely destroyed. 36 of the 97 persons aboard were killed. This disaster marked the end of the use of dirigibles in commercial travel.
