Questionnaire Analysis

Page 2: Questionnaire Analysis

Since 74% of my audience is women, I will focus my magazine on the female readers, and choose a girly colour scheme. The content in the magazine will also appeal more to girls than to boys, but since 26% of my readers are boys, I won’t make a completely girl magazine.

Most of my readers are in the age between 15 and 18, which means I need to focus my magazine on things that interests teenagers, like concerts and young artists. This also means that my readers will be easily influenced by the media and it will be smart to promote products in the magazine.

Because all my readers are student, (and most likely college students as they are between 15-18 years old) and only 9% work part time, my target audience is likely to not have very much money to spare. I will therefore sell the magazine quite cheap. This result also shows me that most of my readers will have a lot of spear time to read magazines, suggesting the articles may be longer and deeper.

Since 65% of my readers have subscribed to magazine before, they are likely to subscribe to a magazine again, and I will therefore promote subscribing inside the magazine.

66% of the audience listen to rock pop, so my magazine will be a rock pop magazine where I feature rock pop-artists and music.

According to the results, it is clearly that exclusive interviews are the most popular content of a magazine. I will therefore promote the interview in my double spread on the front cover to attract readers. There was also quite a lot of people who wanted to read about Concert & Tour dates, so I am going to add that in as well as a bit celebrity gossip.

The majority of the audience wanted free stuff to be in the magazine, so I will attract my readers by promoting free posters on the cover page.

Since every reader except from one use Facebook, I will put a “like us on Facebook” symbol somewhere in the magazine. I will maybe promote the magazine’s YouTube channel and Instagram as well, since the majority of my readers use these social medias.

The majority of my audience wanted the colour scheme to consist of popping colours such as red, black and yellow. However there was quite a lot of people who wanted the colours to be simple; black, grey and white. Also, 18% of the readers wanted pastel colours, and since the majority of my readers are women, I will use a girly colour scheme (like pink, pastel colours, black, grey and white). Since 7 out of 23 persons skipped the questions, I assume there colour scheme doesn’t really matter for the audience, and that whatever colours I use, the readers will still read the magazine.

The majority of the audience is willing to spend between £3.5 - £5 on a magazine, and I will therefore price my magazine somewhere between that. There is also a few people who would pay more than 5 pounds on a magazine, suggesting that they will have some disposable income or extra money to spare.
