GDP1. What country has the largest column? What are the reasons that you think that this country has the

highest amount?• The U.S. has the largest column. I think this country has the highest amount because it is a developed

country that has a lot of money.2. What country has the smallest/lowest? What reasons would cause this country to have a low amount?• The countries that have the lowest are Lithuania, Togo, and Haiti. I think they have the lowest amount

because they are developing countries. Countries that are still developing tend to not have a lot of money. They are very poor countries and can’t pay for many things.

3. Look at the 5th and 6th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question.

• Australia is a developed country and Mexico is a developing countries. I think they are in that ranking because they are not the worst countries but they aren't good enough to be at the top so they still have worse countries below them.

4. Look at the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question.

• Pakistan and Lithuania are both developing countries. I think they need to somehow get more money so they can use that money to become a developed country. They can then get more people to come to their countries.

5. Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption.

• Canada stands out to me on this chart because even though there isn’t that much of a difference between Spain, Canada, Russia, and Australia, there is a slight difference. Also, it has many people, and most have jobs. They have a high GDP per capita of $40.500. It is also a developed country.

Physician Density1. What country has the largest column? What are the reasons that you think that this country has the highest

amount?• Russia has the largest column. I think it has the largest column because they have the money to pay for a lot of

Physicians.2. What country has the smallest/lowest? What reasons would cause this country to have a low amount?• The country with the smallest is Togo. I think Togo has the lowest amount of Physicians because they are a

developing country, and don’t have the money to pay for things like physicians.3. Look at the 5th and 6th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that

they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question. • Mexico and the U.S. are the 5th and 6th ranked countries. Mexico is developing and the U.S. is developed. I think

they are there because they both have a decent amount of physicians, but they still have some that can provide more, and some that don’t have enough money to pay for a lot of physicians.

4. Look at the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question.

• Canada and Pakistan are the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Canada is developed and Pakistan is developing. I think they could put aside some money to pay for more physicians instead of using it on other things.

5. Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption.

• Spain stands out to me on this chart. It has a little less then 50,000,000 people. 97.7% of the population can read and write. It has a decent GDP per capita of $30,500. It is also a developed country.

Oil Consumption1. What country has the largest column? What are the reasons that you think that this country has the highest

amount?• The United States has the largest column. I think the U.S has the largest column because we tend to overuse the

resources we have, so we might have a lot of oil, but we use it for unnecessary things.2. What country has the smallest/lowest? What reasons would cause this country to have a low amount?• Haiti has the smallest column. It has the lowest column because one, Haiti is a smaller country so they have less

oil in their country. Two, they don’t overuse what little oil they can find.3. Look at the 5th and 6th ranked countries. Are they developed, developing, or one of each? Why do you think that

they are where they are in the rankings? Use data to help you answer the question. • Spain and Australia are the 5th and 6th ranked countries. They are both developed countries. They are both

decent sized, which means they probably have a decent amount of oil in their countries. They don’t have enough to be numbers one and/or two, but they have enough to be in the middle.

4. Look at the 7th and 8th ranked countries. Are they developing countries? If so, what do they need to do in order to get to the top half of the rankings? Use data from any information to help you answer the question.

• Lithuania and Pakistan are the 7th and 8th ranked countries. They are both developing countries. I think they can raise money through fundraisers to be able to buy more oil from other countries that have a lot. They can then use that oil for whatever they need.

5. Name another country (other than the US) that stands out to you on the chart. Describe the country and what type of impact it has on world consumption.

• Mexico stands out to me on this chart because I wouldn’t expect it to be the 4th ranked country. It isn’t developed, and has a low GDP of only $14,700. 86.1% can read which is high compared to some countries and low to others. Also, over half of their population, which is 114,975,406 people, is in poverty (51.3%).
