    What are auxiliary verbs in

    questions??

    Auxiliary verbs are very important in the use

    of the formulation of questions, these verbs

    often also can be used as main verbs, but that

    will depend on the grammatical structure that

    is written, also modal verbs can be used as

    auxiliaries in questions but, these are treated

    different.

    The most common auxiliary verbs are

    three, also known as 'helping verbs

    They are used along with the main verb

    in a sentence to make questions.

    The verb do can be both an auxiliary anda full verb. As an auxiliary we use do in

    negative sentences and questions formost verbs (except not for be, will, havegot and modal verbs)

    Simple Present: Does he play football?

    Simple Past: Did he play football?

    How to use verb to do?

    Simple Present: do I/we/you/they, does he/she/it

    Simple Past: did I/he/she/it/we/you/they

    How to use verb to be?

    To be is the most common verb in the English

    language. It can be used as an auxiliary in

    questions.

    Examples

    Simple Present: am I/, are we/you/they, is he/she/it.

    Simple Past: were we/you/they, was /I he/she/it.

    Auxiliary have Have is a main verb and an auxiliary (helping)

    verb. It`s also used in many idiomatic phrases.(Marclin, 1992)

    Example.Has he worked?

    Have you worked?

    Have you ever been to Egypt?

    It is used to express advices.

    Will is a modal verb, it adds meaning to the

    main verb "go". Its used to express future and

    also used as an auxiliary verb.
