(healthy meals, nurturing relationships, age- appropriate activities, Bible lessons, etc.) Camp CUMCITO combats generational poverty by teaching pertinent life skills, fostering mentor relationships, and motivating campers through enriching activities. With a daily diet of two chapel sessions, cabin devotions, and scripture memory activities and with a spiritually vibrant staff, Camp CUMCITO offers a unique opportunity to impact campers for Christ.

Why would a homeless shelter

have a summer camp?

Camp is an incredibly rich place for personal

development. Kids and staff, alike, are stretched

and developed, here.

♦ For a whole week, we get to provide for the

immediate needs of hundreds of kids!

VOLUNTEER DETAILS

Campgrounds are located near Warsaw, MO.

(approximately 100 miles southeast of KC)

Applicants must be growing, maturing Christians and must have participated regu-larly in an evangelical Christian church for

the preceding year.

Positions are all on a volunteer basis.

Applicable training is mandatory for all posi-tions unless specifically stated otherwise, regardless of whether or not the applicant is

experienced in that position.

Counselors (and most other staff) are “on

duty” 22 hours per day.

CAMP TRAINING

Read the Guidebook for Camp Staff and complete the test in the back (available

online).

Attend City-Side Training — June 17 (Westbrooke Church, 9777 Antioch Rd,

Overland Park, KS)

Attend On-Site Training for each camp ses-sion you attend (check in at camp between

2:00pm and 2:30pm on Sunday).

Acquire job-specific training, as required by your position:

• Supervisors — May 6; 9:00am—1:00pm

• Food service (TBA)

• Medical (TBA)

• Recreation (TBA) GPS - 2hrs; archery - 3hrs; climbing wall - 3hrs; etc.

Lifeguard Training Opportunities May 22-26, 8:00am—5:00pm (Tall Oaks Conf. Center, Linwood, KS) June 8-10, 8:00am—9:00pm (Camp CUMCITO, Warsaw, MO)

CPI Training — We highly recommend this crisis intervention training for all of our staff:

• June 1, 8:00am—5:00pm

• $15 Materials Fee
