charity, welcoming 2,000 volunteers to
our centres annually. Collectively,
volunteers give over 4,000 weeks of
their time to helping us every year.

Who are we and what do we do?Vitalise is a charity which has beenproviding respite holidays for peoplewith physical disabilities and theircarers for over 50 years. Our guestsrange from people who spend most oftheir lives in care homes to familycarers who very rarely get time to relax.Our centres give our guests the chanceto have a break, receiving the care andsupport they need with the addedextras of excursions, activities andevening entertainment.
A Vitalise break is all about enjoyingnew experiences and creating long-lasting memories and friendships withother guests, staff and, of course, ourarmy of volunteers! We provide:• A unique, fun-filled holiday

The atmosphere is infectious. It’s a chance to try newand exciting things and meet new people from all over theworld. But the icing on the cake is in giving my time forsuch a great cause and helping others to achieve all thegoals. You give, but you get so much back in return. What do you get?Being a residential volunteer at aVitalise centre is a life alteringexperience. As well as memories totreasure forever, we also cover youraccommodation, food and travel coststo and from the centre (up to anagreed annual limit). There is plenty ofpersonal support provided by staff tooto make sure you get the most fromyour experience.
You can spend anything from a week to sixmonths making sure our guests have aholiday to remember. During this time, youwill stay at the centre and complete adiverse range of duties alongside yourfellow volunteers and Vitalise staff.
You may be asked to help with kitchen/domestic tasks or guests' basic personalneeds such as dressing (outer clothing),brushing hair and teeth, and applyingcosmetics. The single most importantaspect of volunteering, however, issocialising with guests - enjoying theholiday with them and providing that all-important human contact - simplecompanionship, a helping hand, a friend totalk to.
