MORE THAN A BUILDING.
A Future-FocusedLaw School.
CHICAGO-KENT DOWNTOWN CAMPUS BUILDING PreLaw Magazine
listed Chicago-Kent as one of the 55 "Best Law School Facilities" and stated
that "the school also has the best [law school] building in Chicago."
GOVERNOR RICHARD B. OGILVIE AUDITORIUM Named for the prominent
Chicago-Kent alumnus and former governor of Illinois, this 325-seat, two-
level auditorium is equipped with a front-screen video projection system and
television cameras that can record proceedings. Academic convocations and
student assemblies are often transmitted live via the Internet as well as in-
house to monitors in classrooms and other locations throughout the building.
MAROVITZ AND KOHEN COURTROOMS Chicago-Kent’s courtrooms are among
the best trial advocacy training facilities in the nation and set the stage for the law
school's hands-on litigation technology course. The Abraham Lincoln Marovitz
Courtroom, named for one of our most distinguished alumni and the former senior
judge of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, is a teaching
facility as well as a working courtroom. The Bruce M. Kohen Courtroom, named
for an acclaimed alumnus and litigator, incorporates emerging computer and
audiovisual technologies, including 90-inch video walls and document cameras.
LAW LIBRARY Chicago-Kent has an outstanding collection of library materials
related to law, business, and international relations. Through our library’s website,
you’ll have direct access to a wide variety of databases and electronic journals.
The library offers group study rooms for collaborative work and features a reading
room on the 10th floor, which is a modern interpretation of a traditional nineteenth-
century reading room. Balconies on the 9th and 10th floors of the library provide
an opportunity to study outdoors and enjoy views of the city. Puzzles, chess
games, and art books provide an opportunity to relax during study breaks.
STUDENT LOUNGES AND GAME ROOM Chicago-Kent students work hard, but
they also realize it’s important to relax and have fun. The law school building
includes student lounges and a cafeteria as well as numerous spaces to socialize
with your classmates. A game room on the 5th floor gives students a comfortable
place to relax and enjoy a wide variety of board, table, and video games.
