World leader in design, innovation and quality, Quick-Step, has raised the bar once again with a new generation of laminate floors. Waterproof and incredibly realistic, Impressive & Impressive Ultra herald a new era for laminate flooring.

Quick-Step is the first to develop technology to make laminate floors waterproof, without the need for seals or additional coatings. The protective and waterproof Hydroseal finish stops water from penetrating the joints of all Impressive floors. Unlike other laminate, the joints on Impressive and Impressive Ultra are pressed into the surface structure during production. This not only helps the floor to be waterproof, but also ensures the design, colour and structure of the surface blends subtly for a more realistic look.

The edge is no longer a single shade that closely resembles the dominant colour in the floor. Instead, thanks to completely new technology, colour variations blend into the joint, just as if it’s real wood. Similarly this innovation also means the structure and wood grains of the plank blend seamlessly, not only along its length but on the short side too. So an Impressive or Impressive Ultra floor with a weathered look has a joint that undulates and shows minute cracks, just like the real thing.

The new technology not only makes the Impressive & Impressive Ultra more realistic than ever, but the collection is anti-static even in the joints, meaning dirt can doesn’t cling and the floors are even easier to clean.

At 19cm wide and 138cm long, the Impressive and Impressive Ultra collection brings each design to life, with the ample length makes rooms look deeper and more inviting. The Impressive floors have a thickness of 8 mm. The 12mm thickness of the Impressive Ultra makes the floors highly durable and ensures they deliver impressive performance for maximum sound reduction.

16 new designsThe Impressive and Impressive Ultra floors deliver on major interior trends, ‘fast forward to the future’ and the retro-influenced Scandinavian and industrial themes. So for this year, it’s not cherry, beech, maple or merbau, but pine and the permanent fixture of oak in some fresh and interesting takes.

From the classic to the reclaimed, Impressive and Impressive Ultra designs get an extra dimension thanks to the new joint technology. Finishes can be matt or medium gloss, with high gloss only appearing in highlights and while light shades are still important, they are joined by warmer and richer shades.

VARNISHED OAK:TIMELESS CLASSIC

Distressed floors are in, but that does not mean that there isno longer any demand for clean, classic designs. These classicoak floors have no knots or splits, but are characterised by thefloral drawing. The natural colours give the interior a calmand authentic character.

CLASSIC OAK:THAT LITTLE BIT DIFFERENT

The Classic Oak collection has the character of classic oak, but with a new touch. The cracks and gnarls display all the charm and warmth of an oak floor, but Quick-Step has added to this with a feel of movement, the structure gaining a certain depth

thanks to the wavy aspect of the surface.

SOFT OAK:ROMANTIC TO THE CORE

This romantic floor is inspired by oak with a soft patina, small cracks, and wood grains. The light colours and matt look help to further highlight the soft, romantic character of the floor. A new type of Scratch Guard gives strong protection to the

polished floor to ensure that it retains this matt look.

SCRAPED OAK:FLOOR WITH CHARACTER

The Scraped Oak collection has the character of a weathered floor. It looks as though this floor has been scraped with a sharp object that has got stuck from time to time. This results in so-called chatter marks, which can be clearly felt. The black patina in the scratches and small cracks gives the floor a traditional look so that it matches austere furniture well. The black joint is rounded and seems to move with the structure of the wood to give the floor an extra dimension. Warm, dark brown floor shades are in fashion, giving interiors a cosy, intimate, and homely feeling.

SANDBLASTED OAK: EXCEPTIONAL STRUCTURE

This floor stands out for its weathered and individual look and the splendidly brushed, rough, and sandblasted structure. This, combined with the gentle natural colour, gives the floor the look of driftwood which has weathered under the effects of wind and sand. Available in one colour.

SAW CUT OAK:STURDY, ROUGH LOOK

Weathered floors with the pattern of saw cuts have been popular for a few years now, with the rough structure inspired by the markings of a saw blade on a wooden plank. To this end, Quick-Step has developed some unique technology, which represents the shape and depth of saw cuts in a strikingly realistic manner. Moreover, the diagonal cuts which you see on the surface correspond perfectly with what you feel, and

this reinforces the authenticity and traditional look of the floor. Thanks to the new joint technology, the joint blends in with the structure of the plank surface completely, so the floor looks even more true to nature. The Saw Cut Oak collection fits in perfectly with a rustic and rural look.

NATURAL PINE:THOROUGHLY SCANDINAVIAN

Scandinavian design is back in fashion, and this means that pinewood is once again on the march. This new floor from Quick-Step has the structure, look and feel of sandblasted pinewood. Since the structure also blends in with the joints, this results in an absolutely unique design. In contrast to real pinewood which is sandblasted (and thereby splinters), Natural Pine is extremely gentle on bare feet. CONCRETE WOOD:WARM INDUSTRIAL LOOK

Concrete has been entering modern interiors with increasing frequency in recent years, providing a distinctly ‘cool’ look. Quick-Step is capitalising on this with a floor with the industri-al look of concrete, but the warmth of wood. The structure of pinewood has been pressed into the concrete design of this floor not only visibly, but also tangibly. WHITE PLANKS:TIMELESS ROMANCE

White floors continue to do well. After all, white does suit the most diverse interiors, from modern through to romantic and classic, to name but a few. Quick-Step capitalises on this with the White Planks floor. This new star in white has an exceptional structure of sandbla-sted wood – a real eye-catcher! Opt for romance with various shades (e.g. ivory, beige, or broken white) and gloss, work with natural materials and neutral colours or go for a modern, serene look with grey and black. Moreover, white helps to reduce the intensity of other colours, which can be worked in around the

floor.

BURNED PLANKSBLACK IS BACK

Black is back. Therefore, Quick-Step has unveiled a ‘special’ black floor: a floor with the structure of burnt wood. The fact is that burnt wood has a rich structure and a deep black colour to fire the imagination.However, until now it has been beyond the wit of current techniques to imitate the structure of burnt oak authentically. Now, however, in imitating Japanese architecture, where burnt pinewood is used as exterior wall cladding to keep out vermin, amongst other things, Quick-Step has started experimenting with pinewood. Treating the wood surface with a burner and fixing it with a var-nish proved to be no problem. However, scanning the structure of the planks in the customary manner proved impossible. The pinewood planks had become so soft that they broke. And so, they had to look for a different scanning technique. The Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam has developed a technique for producing accurate replicas of paintings. This new technique

is called reliefography, Quick-Step using a similar technique to scan the structure and gain a black floor with a unique and un-precedented structure of burnt wood. A black Quick-Step floor in your room – now that says something! In combination with light walls, you have found your perfect contemporary setting.
