Greetings Fellow Quilters,
I hope this letter finds all of you well. I have missed
seeing everyone. We did not meet in January and will not
in February due to the pandemic. We will have a board
meeting on Thursday, March 4, at 6 pm at the church.
We may meet across the street at the park. All of you are
welcome to join us. We will have our first guild meeting
of the decade on Wednesday, March 10, at 7 pm. We will
practice social distancing and wear masks when we enter
the building. Please do not attend if you have had contact
with someone who has been sick. We will take
temperatures at the door.
I am grateful we will begin meeting again. I believe
the development and distribution of the corona virus
vaccinations will stem the tide of the pandemic, and
enable us to get back to our normal lives.
I understand from Bonnie that the November retreat
was wonderful. Bonnie said everyone had fun. The next
retreat is scheduled for February 26 - 28. I trust the
February retreat will also be wonderful.
I look forward to seeing all of you in March.
Happy quilting!
Sincerely, Beverly Cormier

We have received two quilts in the last month or so,
and no deliveries will be made in January. You may drop
off quilts to me or to Judy Moeny. Thank you to all
members who participate with our charity project.
This past year a total of 144 quilts and 82 doll quilts
have been delivered. We hope that 2021 will be as
productive.
We still have piecing and quilting kits available.
Remember, the kits contain everything you need to
complete a top or quilt. The need for our quilts has not
diminished. Please consider picking up a quilt kit from
Judy or turning in a completed quilt to me or Judy. Give
us a call and we will do our best to accommodate you.
You may contact any of the committee members for more
information.
Our workdays are usually the fourth Wednesday of
each month, from 9-1 at Judy Moeny's house, 3125
Northridge Drive. We will be having a workday on
January 27. Please feel free to join us.

Have you noticed how many
bright colored quilts are showing
up on Instagram and Facebook?
Moda Bake Shop is
starting a new sampler,
called “My Favorite
Color is Moda 1.” Kits
are available, and they
come in several
different color ways.
Two are shown here. I
believe they are all
solids.
I recently learned about Paula Steel, a quilter and
designer from Great Britain (always a favorite for me)
She is doing a Quilt Along featuring her pattern, Fraktal.
I bought this pattern
and have to say it is
the first time I
bought something
from across the
pond. We are on
week two, and it is
filled with half-
square triangles and
and flying geese
and is a great quilt
with either white or
navy background. I
chose navy. I love the color wheel effect of this quilt.
Last but not least, Connecting Threads is having a
BOM program. Their Lexington quilt is made up of
traditional blocks on a light background. Reds, blue, and
teal make it a really pretty quilt.
Speaking of Blocks of the Month, while we can’t
meet regularly, if someone would like to take on the
Block of the Month committee we could have a block of
the month in show and tell. Please think about taking this
committee on as your project. I would love to work on
blocks for our guild, even if we make charity quilts with
them. Working together would keep us together. You can
find links to these BOM programs on the links page of
our website:

Hoping to see you in February!

Have you ever been a little stumped picking out a
color palette for a quilt? There is a website, called Stitch
Palettes, that converts
photos, like this one, into a
color palette. It even
matches the colors up to
DMC embroidery floss if
you’re a stitcher. You can
look up palettes by color or
by theme, and now you can
even upload your own
photo and convert it to a
stitch palette! You can also sign up for weekly emails,
full of colorful photos and palette inspiration. So, next
time you are trying to figure out just what color will go
with the new fabric that you just love, go check out
stitchpalettes.com for some colorful inspiration! You can also find it on the links page of our website:
