Hiiumaa in september 2011

• We get information on the nature on Hiiumaa and the work with visitors and management of protected nature on the island.

• First versions of the archipelago underwater films from Östergötland was shown as an example of ”new” information for people.

• The WP 4 meeting was focusing on the work to produce ”Nature living plans” for all the BACES before 2012.

• Other work at each partner/region was going on, about information material for example.

Work in WP4 since Hiiumaa

• Söderköping have work with a feasibility study on guiding and education plan for guides.

• Norrköping and CAB Östergötland have cooperated in developing a management plan for Nature reserve Kopparholmarna.

• Foundation Tuuru have collected data concerning Hiiumaa nature and environment.

• Novia university have worked with 2 nature reports and an initiative for alternative routes of nature paths on Gunnarsören.

• On local level the partners have arranged internal coordination meeting, in some cases connected to WP2 and WP3.

• ”Nature living plans”!

- The work have intensified.

- 30 of 50 objects have a first draft.

- We are writing general text about the baltic sea and the archipelago.

- Work with pictures, drawings as well as maps.

Presentations of the objects

One lookup per object.

Ingress (about 50 words) and a general text (about 200 words) about the visiting area.

Also a fact-square with area, location, landowner, protection, access, bear in mind etc.

At the lookup is at representative photo showing the character of the site. Another photo with at symbolic species/object that relates to the object, e.g. a bird, a plant, an insect etc.

There shall also be a site map with symbol for trails, P-lots, fire places, waste bins, natural harbours etc.

- All information about fishing rules.

- Dubble sided A3.

- Drawings of the coastal fish fauna.

- Bird inventories from 2007 and 2010 in new rapport (not BACES).

- Proposals for review of bird sactuaries.

- After this we can produce some of the information material in BACES.

• In the project it should be produced some planning documents related to environment around the BACES.

• Feasibility studies concerning info centers and exhibitions as well as other possibilities to develop the nature areas around the BACES as a part of local development.

• We decided that this could be incorporated in one single report for every BACE (6 plans, Hangö and Raseborg in one together) and all reports shall include the same parts.

• The time frame for the proposals in the plan will be 20 years but also deal with such activities that are going on and will be developed in short time.

• We decided that the plans should be written in 2011! Make it possible to use in other BACES work (connection to WP2 and WP3 and planning for time after project)

The ”Nature living plans”

• A extra WP4 workshop meeting was arranged in East Sweden (Arkö) in November to work with the nature living plans. Only 2 BACES and CAB Östergötland was there!

• Only 2 of 6 Nature living plans are finished (Söderhamn and Arkösund).

• Fyrudden are almost finished.• Still are 3 missing without any

status!• CAB Östergötland will make a

small project report of all 6 but it is unfortunately not possible.
