Business as usual...
Nova Scotia Lion Page 3 March / April 2018
Fellow Lions,
March was a month of unexpected weather which caused the cancellation of two of my DG visits. Louisdale
which has been rescheduled for April 12th and Truro was rescheduled for May 11th.
I would like to congratulate the Preston and Area Lions Club for hosting a very successful skit night again this
year. It was very impressive to see 74 Lions and 5 guests in attendance representing 16 Clubs. There were five
very funny skits. The three judges had their work cut out for them in selecting a winner. Preston won back the
coveted “Gasser Award”. A great time was had by all.
Remember, the Convention is just around the corner. Our guest speaker is PIP Dr. Clement Kodiak. Please ensure
that if you are attending, you submit the registration form to the Yarmouth Lions Club. This will ensure that they
have the correct numbers for the meals. The Yarmouth Lions have been working very hard to ensure that we have
a wonderful convention.
Don’t forget when you finish your election of officers for next year; you must submit the names through MyLCI
on the PU101. If this is not done, your officers will not be able to access the site for their year.
Again, PCC Peter and I thank all the clubs we have visited for their hospitality. It is always a pleasure to visit
clubs in our wonderful District.
My visits for the month of April are as follows:
12 – Louisdale
17 – Sheet Harbour
Remember – Respect is a very powerful thing. If you respect your members, they will, in return, respect you. We
are all here to accomplish a common goal – “SERVICE THOSE IN NEED”.
Namaste Lions.
Yours in Lionism,
DG Rhonda
PCC Peter & I wish you and your families, a very Happy Easter.

APRIL 10, 2018
New Minas and District Lions
Club members Tom Fisher and
Marlene Vantertoorn surprised
those at attendance at their clubs
meeting on April 10th when at the
end of the meeting they got mar-
ried. With the exception of a few
invited lions from out of town, no
one at the meeting knew what
was about to take place. The hon-
eymoon...at the local Tim Hortons

ceremony.
